Season 2025-26
English Championship
Norwich City
Well, the bullet dodging was worth it. The retooling helped. We started brightly, before having our stickiest patch of the year in the early autumn, where we fell to midtable after about a third of the season. However we rode a strong League Cup run back up the table and by the two-third mark had got back into the playoffs. A Finnish DC who joined in January formed a stellar partnership with my best DC, a 22yo Scot, and my Spanish SC had a superb season.
Our League cup run continued, with us disposing of EPL sides Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool (

) in successive rounds (the last the semi-final). A comparitively poor performance, however, saw us capitulate 0-2 to Villa in the final. The morale improvement work had been done though and our league surge continued, as we hit second spot with 10 games to play and then went top with 3 to go.
A win on the final day would see us Champions. So we drew 0-0 with Burnley.
Fortunately, the only team in the top 4 to win was Preston, who despite catching us on points had a vastly inferior goal difference (largely due to Spanish SC's club record 38 goal haul). Champions (again) \o/
In other news, the 2026 World Cup was held in Yankland. Chile beat Portugal 2-0 in the final
Stats:
Championship: 1st. On goal difference
League Cup: Runners-up. Lost to Villa (EPL) in the final
FA Cup: Beaten by Gillingham (L1) in a R3 replay.
UEFA Ranking: 61st (-4)
