Default Marching Across The Alps

Just completed season 3 of my first real LLM game. Started in Italy's Serie C2/A with Sudtirol-Alto Adige from the town of Bolzano.

5K to spend and board expects the club to achieve a respectable position.. Signed four freebies found by my scout and bought one DMC for 3K. Also loaned three youngsters.

Surprised myself andf the club by finishing 1st

2006/7

Now in Serie C1/A. Board expects me to stay clear of relegation but give me no money to spend and only 35% of any sales.

Sign nine players including some youth players (why do 15 year-olds expect to be classed as 1st team players?). Got rid of ten others and raised some cash by selling a stake in one of my more promising youngsters.

Start off ok and am in a play-off position after 10 matches, but then we go into free-fall and don't win another game until February. Finally finish 15th (out of 19) in the last play-out position. Manage to win both play-out semi finals 1-0 to surveive for another year.

2006/7

Same expectations as last year and no transfer funds again. 9 in and 13 out plus a couple of loans.

Never trouble the play-off positions but on the plus side stay clear of of the play-outs to finsih 12th. Top scorer managed a magnificent 8 goals but I have high hopes for next season as one of my youngsters stepped up to the first team and hit 4 in the last 6 games.

I've also got two playes coming in on Bosmans for next season that look particularly useful.

Lol! A lot of the players in and out were youth. I'm trying to build up a young squad. For 2007/8 I've only bought in three players plus a 15 year-old but have let 10 go deal with the wage budget, so my 1st team squad is about 22.

I forgot to mention that I was offered both the Scottish U-21 and U-19 jobs last season. Bizarre!

Finally got round to playing this one again.

2007/8

Yet again board expectations are to stay clear of relegation. Having paired the squad down to keep the wage budget under control my main concern is that injuries could hit me badly. Fortunately my longest injury is only for two months.

The season starts off OK apart from the usual early Serie C cup exit and we hover just outside of the playoffs. After the New Year we go on a good run getting as high as third but dip a bit towards the end to finish 5th and in the last play-off place.

P36 W18 D10 L8 F51 A31 PTS64

In the semi-final play-off we draw 0-0 at home to Como but scrape a 1-0 away win inthe second leg. The play-off final is a bit more comfortable with 1-0 wins in both legs against Spal.

Into Serie B next season with absolutely no chance of doing anything else than coming rock bottom. Hopefully we will make some serious cash though, as so far the only thing keeping the club going is regular cash injections from the Board.
