Just wondering what the standard rules are about players who are 'Listed for Loan' or 'Transfer Listed'. Surely if they're listed somewhere then logically it would be possible for any manager to get hold of that list, thereby making the Player Search screen viable with filters for the above.

OK with me, but with the provisos:

Use Asst to filter players to target.
Play with FOW on so that the attributes are masked.
Scout the players before buying or loaning.

(OK I admit that I have loaned players to fill a temporary gap on short term loans without scouting them. If they were crap I sent them back when the need was no longer urgent)

The player search screen can be used, within reason; it's "find" that we object to. Obviously you should scout the players before signing them.

Agree with the others. Transfer List is fine with me, as is Listed for Loan. Use AssMan to remove unrealistic transfers anyway. Scout the guys you're interested in signing. If you need a goalkeeper for example because all your goalies are injured, you can just loan one or buy a cheap one without waiting for 4 weeks for a scouting report though. Just keep it realistic. You wouldn't buy a player just because his name is on a list, right?

This area that gray one. Some regulars use this techniques, some don't. I belong in the last group. Never user transfer screen list since 00/01 and even that at the very beginning at only with squads that had too few players to assemble first team squad.
