Default Whats worse for LLM, bugs or the knowledge that bugs exist?

With the release of FM06 just around the corner and I begin my annual ritual of avoiding general discussion/bugs forums, I can't help but ask: Is there anybody out there like me?

You see, I only enjoy FM when I am completely immersed in its world and one of the most common factors that can break this spell is the bugs, and they don't even have to affect me directly. for example, if news gets to me that the regens are screwy, it sits forever at the back of my mind and I think "well whats the point of carrying on this career game?" With FM2005 it was the knowledge that <spoiler> becomes pointless when you take a LLM team up the divisions that stopped me playing, even though it didn't happen to me. My sense of realism was shattered and I didn't play anymore.

So once again, I will hide from the GQ and bugs forum, hoping against hope that news of any bugs does not reach me so I can enforce my fake belief that FM06 is perfect for as long as possible. Even though it won't be.

Anybody out there like me?

And any chance of banning the discussion of bugs in this forum? ;-)

Well, some of us are still playing CM 01/02 which was really excellent for the same reasons you mentioned. It was stable, and you could easily play long-time saves.

I guess the same will happen with FM 2006. Most LLaMas will stick to the current version they are playing (be it 01/02 or 2005) until 2006 seems appropriate for LLMing.

So how can I find out whether people thing FM06 is suitable for LLMing without finding out why they think it is/is not?

More importantly, does what I just said make any sense?

By waiting. Just be patient, wait until several patches are out, have a glance what other regulars are doing, and you'll find out.

wise advice. Unfortunately I'm likely to follow the more impatient route of finding out for myself, realising several months down the line whether I made the right choice.

Like always. Yay for FM

I also tend to stay away from the GQ and bugs fora.

But, differently from you, I go there every time I suspect a bug is affecting my game. It's just to clear my mind for stupid things we all know can spoil a good LLM save.

About when to start playing the new game, I tend to play it right after it's out, but never doing a "proper" game. I tend to play around, to get used to new interface and features, until a patch that makes me feel comfortable to play a long LLM save.

I stay away from the bug forums for much the same reason as you gratch. to be honest a lot of the bugs never seem to appear, some people are either very hard to please or seem to do bizarre things to try and "break" the game. I just play it for enjoyment and immersion so unless it affects long saves or scouting in some way don't notice or ignore the bugs.

I'll be waiting until the have FM2006 running stable (with patches), before buying it. I don't want to start a career game, and then have to crash and burn it due to needing another new patch.
