So in my latest llm saga I find myself in Hradec Kralove of the Czech 2nd division. I loaded all Czech, German, and Dutch leagues.

04/05:
I'm expected to finish safely in the middle of the table, and I get a sizeable ($260k) transfer budget :eek:. Unfortunately nobody is willing to come to the club, so I chose to slog through with the players I have...bad idea. With 5 games to go, I find myself in last (bottom 2 are relegated to oblivian). I managed to put myself 4pts back with 2 games to play, but it was no use, and I was fired.

05/06:
Spent the whole damn year looking for a job, and I couldn't get one.

06/07:
Finally, midway through the season Jablonec lost their manager to Slovan Liberec, and I took over the manager job for the team which sat 6th in the 2nd division (6 points out of the promotion spots). I managed to win the league over the last 10 games, and found a few good players to boot.

07/08:
Board expecting to fight bravely. I expect to finish at least 10 pts clear. Fantastic news as one fantastic looking striker was promoted through the youth system, and a useful Italian forward (pace 18, finsihing 14)was promoted as well. I brought in a Guatemalan gem who must be a regen, and had 20 dribbling.
Season started well, and finished that way also. I managed 4th place, which is normally enough for a uefa cup bid, but the 6th place team fought their way to the FA Cup final, so I was banished to the Euro Vase .
My Guatemalan won player of the year (7.90, 16 goals). Interest is really heating up for my Czech prodigy (14 goals) and he is attracting attention from the likes of Feyenoord, Bayern, and even Real Madrid :eek:. They can have him, as soon as they give me a nice sell-on clause because I have him under contract untill 2012.

I'll be looking for the UEFA cup next season, although I already lost to SHinnik in the 1st round of the Vase.

I think kov was referring to the guidelines posted at the top of this forum that are basically there to help you scout in a fashion consistent with Llama management: SWYCT = Scout Where You Can Tour and SYB = Scout Your Borders... two variations that both aim to help you restrain yourself hiring players that you couldn't possibly afford to go and watch at a cash-strapped side.

So, if you were to play in the Scottish Third Division, say, you would be unlikely to be able to afford scouting trips to South America, Eastern Europe or Cardiff. So, signing players that come from there is unrealistic and is to be avoided.

Yeah, anyway there is a rule in the czech league where you can only play 3 players from countries not bordering your's at one time. The Czech league is weird. You don't play a game between Christmas and early March, and it has that foriegner rule that I haven't figured out. An Italian that came through my youth squad counts as a foreigner, but a Georgian player I signed from Slovan Liberec counts as a foriegner.

Ehm, actually FM does not give the correct rule - you can have any number of EUs in the team, but no more than 3 non-EUs. And true, lots of regens there are Italian.
