I'm not looking for advice...but rather looking to see what LLaMA pundits have to say regarding the following situation:
I moved from Altrincham to Derby after a few seasons and after gaining promotion to the Premier with Derby and managing a respectable 7th in the table I have been approached by Chelsea (Mourinho was finally sacked). Now part of me says that the ultimate goal would be to be offered the post at a huge club...but the LLaMA in me argues that staying loyal to Derby and trying to gain international prominence with them would be a more difficult and true test.
So...would I be going against the true nature of the LLaMA lifestyle by accepting the Chelsea post...or would declining it be an unrealistic decision in the grand scheme? (of course one could argue that Derby isn't really a small club to begin with).
I know, I know...'if I have to ask'..yada yada yada...I thought I would anyways. If I'm being a prat...then all hell rain upon me. After all..I'm just an idiot from Arizona.
There are some people who like to stay at the one club for 20 years...like myself. FM 2005 makes it a bit hard to go from the conference to the premier division (which is more realistic that it was before). Some people like to play as a career, so moving from Derby to Chelsea would be a realistic move.
In the end, both are acceptable. It's your game, so do what you want. I don't think people would frown upon it either way.
The goal is realism, when all is said and done. A real manager would love the chance to take control of a side like Chelsea if he'd earned it. I have to say that if they had come knocking on my door, I'd likely accept the job, unless I felt as though my current side could contend for a title or for a continental championship, at least as well as, or better than the side offering me the position.
Basically, if you feel like you earned the offer, and you want to go, then by all means go. It's not unrealistic to think that it would happen.
Actually, I would say that the goal of the game is fun. It IS just a game in the end, and part of the fun is the realism. So in my opinion, u should choose whichever u think would be more fun.
I personally would never manage any team other than Liverpool, but for me, that's fun.
UELLfan....that is ultimately why I told the Russian to take his money elsewhere. I figured if I took the job with the mass amounts of cash to spend I would eventually get bored with the lack of challenge and frustration. Euro Vase is going to have be enough this season!
I agree the point is fun... but realistic fun... I mean you wouldn't go from Stafford Rangers to Chelski unless you had pictures of the owner doing something, you know?
That says it all. Oh, and back on topic. Take a look at your regalia and make a decision... oh, you've already done that... Ah, nevermind. What others said
