I've got my random team from the generator but what leagues should I load? eg Given an Icelandic team (packed the extra jumper) should I just load Iceland or nearby countries eg Scotland & Norway. Also should all players from another country be loaded or just stick with Icelandic players?
Leagues you load depend ultimately on how you plan to play the game. I usually play only using England, Germany, Italy and Spain, because I chose the strongest leagues around.
I also tend to put in Brazilian leagues, sometimes, to follow my team's performance.
You could do it geographically, though. It's up to you. I just think it's good to chose at least one strong league so that long-term continental success might be easily achoieved.
As to loading players from nations, it's a big no in my book. Can't really tell if there is any rule or guideline against it, but it seems too much likely to break the balance of the database.
Most logical to me is load leagues that are geographically/historically linked. So if I were you I would atleast load DEN, NOR and maybe SWE and FIN depending on your system. If you still think your system can handle more you can add some more high profile countries as you wish.
Loading all players from another country is almost always considered as a no-no. Imho there are some justified exceptions. For example if you have all nordic countries loaded I don't see problems with loading the Faroe Island players. When playing with AUT/SWI I don't see problems with loading Liechtenstein players. When Playing ITA I don't see problems with loading SMR players, enfin you get the picture.

It is a big no-no for that exact reason you state, monsieur puce.
So is the only way to get every player that is on the champ (it will always be champ to me)data base, to pick every league or choose to load players from every nation????
