As some might have seen in a nother post, I started this game unemployed and decided to stay like that for the whole first season, and then get a recently promoted team in one of the available lower leagues.

2005/2006 - Hednesford Town - English Conference North
I took control of recently-promoted club Hednesford, and both board and fans expected us to get a safe mid-table position. Without only £4k of transfer budget and already £2k/month above our £13.5k/month wage budget, I decided to bring only players who would get to be first-team regulars. So we got a quite good DM C and a very promising 17 years old GK, both on free. Also, we got a very good M RC on loan from Sunderland.
The team's quality was quite good, except from the poor quality of our defenders. When we reached the half of the season, we were in 11th place, without any shining to our campaign. Since we came out of both cups soon, we were now able to focus on the league only. From january onwards, an impressive unbeaten run in my last 18 games saw us climbing the table. We ended up securing the title with two more games to be played.
Our strikers did very well, as well as our midfield. Ou best player, though, was the loanee, who got 25 goals in 45 appearances. on the financial side, we ended up losing £150k during the year, and are now £40k in the red.

2006/2007 - Hednesford Town - English Conference National
In our debut as a Conference National side, everybody expected a long, tough season. The board, the fans and myself. For that, we were allowed the same £4k as tranfer budget, and £14k/month as wage budget. We brought in 10 players during the course of the season, all on free transfers. An AM L from Manchester City , a M C from Blackburn, a DM LC from Dag & Red and a GK from Derby turned out to be first-team regulars. the other guys were promising players or just dead wood brought to enhance the squad size. Also, an AM C from Newcastle and a D RC from Liverpool () joined us on loan deals.
In the field, we started playing a stupidly bad football, getting only 3 points out of our first seven games. Then a form improvement saw us get to the half-season in the 2nd position. Three major injuries from key players and a run of 12 games without a single victory after a Cup Game defeat () saw us fall down to 13th place, which eventually was our final postition. A little frustrating because we could have done better, but still a very good debut season in the Conference National.
In the financial side, the £100k received in early season as TV money, and a few wins in FA Cup, allied to a very good average attendance (1630 :eek brought the black ink back to our bank balance. We should have a more comfortable financial situation in the coming season, but we desperately need
