The ratings are surely only a guide anyway. How often has your crap stats guy kept one your highly regarded new recruits out of the side?

In a previous save I had a conference reserve grade striker who filled a hole then became a regular. At each promotion, 3 in total over the years, I relegated him back to the reserves then within a couple of months he was back in the first team holding down a spot.

And a huge ask to implement from scratch in the match engine. Easy enough though to offer an (optional) challenge rating for each team before you start a new game. From the volume of "what team" threads it seems this might be a well-received feature.

LLaMas would shun such a feature, of course, and trust in Frank (pbuh).

Yeah. I can't really see how people can think FM'05 to be so easy.

It's not impoessible, but IMHO it's the most realistic FM/CM, regarding difficulty, that
I've played.

I haven't had very many relegations in FM05. Quite a few, but not as the same scale with CM01/02

Well, I doubt you (or anyother human being) will beat your CM 01/02 "relegations in a single game" game record.

I haven't had too many relegations in FM 05, also, but I find it pretty hard to get a tactic to work both home and away, and the reputation thing for small clubs can make it a little hard, also...
