I don't expect that the beta is too hard. I just have to look back to my beginnings with CM 01/02 in LLM. I got sacked. Tried again. Sacked. Tried again. Sacked again. But every time things went better. After lots of tries I finally got the hang of it.
Same thing happened with 03/04 and with FM2005. Both were incredibly hard for me in the beginning, but as soon as I got used to it, I was able to succeed (well, within limits of course. I'm yet to win a major competition (unless you call the Vans Suckass cup a major trophy).

I think too many people are trying short-cuts that used to work and won't work now.

| Just watch the first month after the release of the new game for the number of whingers in GQ whose tactics they 'acquired' from somebody else for FM05 don't work in FM06 and now they don't know how to win using their own brain and start complaining that FM06 is 'too hard, blub blub'...until somebody works out this year's supertactics and superplayers and spreads them around...and then sit back and watch the number of boasting threads grow.
Happens every year. |

As for the beta, it looks like there aren't many 'grey players' in it at LLM level, so we can't try signing them to plug gaps in the squad - which I think is going to be one of the big innovations to affect LLaMas.
No doubt we'll get a better try of it with the Gold Demo, though, so we'll just have to wait a few more weeks to evaluate it.

The difference will be when using a huge database, which will see a proliferation of grey players

At the moment I'm playing a team that doesn't start with a full set of players for all positions, with absolutely no grey players whatsoever (the reserves and under-21s are completely empty as well).

| They are not in the first squad, but the reserve and youths are packed with grey players you can contract.
I like that new feature very much, it does add a lot to the game.

| Not at Workington Town
As an aside, Town were my local team for 5 years so I have a bit of a soft spot for them. Will have to decide if Franks tells me where to go or I tell him i'm off to Town
