Hello all

After a few months of lurking in the land of LLaMas and enjoying it, I have finally plucked up the courage to start my own update thread. I have completed three seasons (actually coming to the end of season 5).

I paid a visit to the exulted Frank and in his wisdom he decreed that Sweden should be my new home with a team called Forward.

A quick trawl through the internet told me that Forward play in a town called Orebro so I packed my bags and jumped on the virtual plane to the land of ABBA.

Season 1 - 2005 - Swedish 2nd Division West Svaeland - BK FORWARD.

Leagues loaded - all divisons from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and England.

The club had a reasonable squad, a nice red bank balance and no money for transfers at the start.
Swedish 2nd division seasons are really short - 22 games - and by the end of a mediocre season the final stats were:

2 7 9 6 32 22 +10 30
Postions 5th - not too bad but with the only way out being win the division and a playoff then improvemnets are required.

Swedish Cup - lost in 2nd round 0-1 to Brommapojkarna.
Players sold 2 for SEK 280k Players bought - none.

Season 2 - 2006 - Swedish 2nd Divsion West Svaeland - BK FORWARD

Squad needed improving so picked up 3 free bods that the scouts managed to find and sold a waste of space for SEK 30k

A second season of visiting every position in the table at one point or another left me wondering if consistancy was a myth
Board and fans were happy but I was getting frustrated.

Final Stats:

Position 6th

Swedish Cup - out round 1 to non-league Degerfors 0-1.

In November I got a job offer from Vasteras SK. After a quick look they appeared to be 7th in Div 1 so I jumped.......

Some might chastise you for jumping so soon - if I were to do it, it would be a case of pots and kettles.

Another Swedish update My Enskede / Gefle save is by far the most enjoyable yet. You're right about Div 2 though - it's a bitch to get out of.

OK Here is the obligatory 3rd season..

Season 3 - 2007 - Swedish 2nd Division East Svaeland - VASTERAS SK

Yes - that is 2nd Division !!! :eek:

In my haste to leave Forward I looked at Vasteras's "best league position" and not FINAL league position. Vasteras had actually ended 2006 in 15th place in div 1 and got relegated Shouldn't make rash decisions under the affluence of incohol..

Any way - still div 2 then just a different area.

Here we go then - season 3..

Fortunately I inherited quite a good squad as they had just dropped a division. I had to let a few players go but that bought in SEK 420k and I recruited one of my old DLC's from Forward.

The season began well and, after a cup blip losing in the 3rd round to GIF Sundsvall in a penalty shoot out, it just got better. All the team played out of their skins and the final stats were;

Position 1st - champions \o/\o/\o/

Then went on to win the playoff against Sparvanga and get promoted to Division 1.
Woohoo
2nd Division manager of the year - runner up.

*nokem* Your Swedish update is excellent. I hope to be as successful one day. Currently nearing end of season 5 and its not all a bed of roses though.
