Morning all.

I'm a new poster (but longtime reader) for the LLM forum.

I took a Conference North club, and as far as I can tell its a semi-pro (or what ever the classification is) side with poor facilities and no youth academy.

As I work this club up the ladder, will the club ever look to change its status or improve these facilities? I know that currently, my salary is their biggest expense (and its putting me over my total salaries of players and staff), and all requests for more cash get the canned "No, and don't ask again" response.

So, am I going to be able to coax these minnows to grow their club, or is my only option to eventuially appeal to a higher team and move up after some success?

Like most others I have seen post in the LLM, I got lucky with what I think was a mid table team and managed to get some performances and got up to Conference - but the second season has started off as a wake-up call to the deficiencies in the squad.

Would the attendaces ever increase (I haven't played an FM2005 game more than a season and a half yet, so I don't know how well the engine handles finances and attendances over the longer term).

Any input appreciated.

Don't worry, you'll find yourself cursing the day you turned pro after it happens.

Loads of taxes and others will make sure it is the way I told you.

I had an account some time back... hadn't actually been on the SI site in about 3 months. Come back in, and can't find my old account....

But, I'll give you points for being really attentive... whcih, if that is a good trait to have as an LLM I'm a dead man :p

My team (see Sun, Sea, Sex, Sangria and Soccer) just turned Pro after four seasons of yo-yoing. I concur with UELLfan - I wish we were semi-pro still. We might not have been able to sign any decent players, but we made massive amounts of cash and didn't have the stupid taxes to pay.

Net result: better squad, bigger expectation, less money. Bah.

Seeing as you are a 'long time reader' you will know that you can persevere with a small team, increasing the training facilities, ground size etc over many, many years or you can improve your own reputation and move your career into the higher leagues. The choice is yours. Most updates generally contain a bit of both.

Just remember if you break the LLaMa 'rules' you better keep it to yourself and if you are suspected of breaking 'rules' --- LOOK OUT

No worries wewak, I'm playing it straight up.

Just fighting the desire to go for self glorification and trying to stay at the humble little club that gave me the shot.... easiest method to do that is only apply for top flight jobs.. LOL
