Board expected mid-table mediocrity, however, I expected to be up the top come end of season as my squad was young and talented.I had a transfer kitty of 12k which was expanded with the sale of two players for 5k.
I brought in a couple of new scouts to aid my original one and sent then to various places. From them I bought in 4 new players to add to my already deep squad including a highly sought after 20yo Scottich DC on a free and a pacey Welsh MR for 2k off TNS reserves.
Season started off well with no defeat in first 9 games including coming from behind 3 times away at Gretna, 3-3. Over the season there were no real awful patches (my longest no win streak was 4 games) and only 5 losses overall. My Scottish DC averaging 7.79 for the season and the quick Welshman averaging 7.97. Top scorer was a talented Scottish FC already in the squad, only 19yo and bagging 23 goals in the season.
Board expected a long, hard slog for the season, again I expected more from my talented group hopefully higher mid-table. Transfer funds increased to 23k   and was again furthur increased with the sale of 11 players for 101k.
My scouts came up trumps again showing me 7 excellent players, 4 of which slotted straight into the side and the other 3 are excellent prospects for the future. The best 2 of these was another Welshman, this time a GK, this time on a free. He was only 22 but played all season and kept 7 clean sheets. The second being an English DR who came from Huddersfield reserves and was my best player averaging 8.00.
Season started better then could have been expected, 3 wins out of 3 and unbeaten for a furthur 7 games. Come Christmas, we were lying a :eek:ing 4st place just four points off Forfar in third. However, leading up to then and continuing after we went on a run of 6 games lost in a row and and then didn't win for another 6 gamea after that. No players were brought in January which looked like I was going to regret. During this period both my Welsh winger and my top-scorer from last year.
They came back but to little effect as we continued to struggle to pick up points lying bottom with 6 games left. By some act of God we had a major resergance in those last few games and ended up safe of the relegation zone by four points, winning four and drawing two.
My top-scorer from yesteryear again top-scored for us, despite being out injured for a reasonable chunk of the season managing 10 goals.
Board expected the same, as did I. Transfer funds of 35k and I sold another 6 players for 98k. Scouts found me another 2 superstars and 3 other good signings. The two were a Scottish DC from Hearts reserves to go alongside my DC from season 1 and also a Scottish FC who was out of contract but has mouth-watering stats for our level who should give some assistance to my top-scorer of the last couple of years. Both were 25.
Season in itself was a bit of a non-story. Won a few, lost a few nothing special, nothing terrible. The high point being a
3-0 whooping of eventual winners Gretna at home. The two new ones I just wrote about both did very well. The DC averaging 8.09, the best of anyone, and also bagging 5 goals. The FC helped himself to 11 goals, 14 assists and an average of 7.56.
The DC and Welsh MR from season 1 continue to excel, the latter getting Fan's Player of the Year with 7 goals, 12 assists and 7 moms with an average of 8.01.
The Welsh GK was in the League's team of the year and kept 9 clean sheets. The English DR from Huddersfield played well until a broken leg kept him out till preseason.
