Yet Another Nomad Like Career - P45 Tour of Northernish Europe.
Speccy bits: Large database with all leagues loaded from England, France, Germany, Holland, Poland, Scotland and Wales.
First stop on my wee tour so far was:
AGOVV Apeldoorn
Eerste Divisie
2007/08
Started crap, team was pants throughout, and despite the players I brought into the club, ultimately my own ambitions were set too high, and I was shown the door at the beginning of December, with the club five adrift at the foot of the table.
Dutch Cup
Second Round - 1-0 aet vs Katwijk (Katwijk Stadium, Katwijk)
Third Round - 1-6 vs PSV Eindhoven (Sportpark Berg en Bos, Apeldoorn)
Following the setback, I took just over a week off, and decided to stay in Holland, and moved to:
FC Zwolle
Eerste Divisie
2007/08
After applying for this job, among a couple of Conference Regional posts, I was offered an £11k transfer kitty and £26k p/w wage budget by the Zwolle chairman, so like anyone, I said ta very much and took the job.
However, I got my feet behind the desk, take a look, and I have a £675p/w wage budget and sod all to spend, with a very sorry looking bank balance as well.
Needless to say, after being lied to by the Zwolle chairman, and with the powers that be wanting promotion, and the club a good twenty or thirty points from the top, I walked after just ten days in the job.

Luckily for me, one of the other sides who I'd applied for still wanted me, so just as New Year was approaching, it was time to move to Britain and...
Haverfordwest County A.F.C.
Welsh Premiership
2007/08
Joined the club with them sitting rather precariously near the drop zone, but with a fair bit of potential. Managed in the end to keep them up, but had problems still with both finances and wages.

Haverfordwest County A.F.C.
Welsh Premiership
2008/09
Onto a second season with the Welsh side, and I was hoping for at least staying up, with having to cull most of the side and replacing them with the kids in an effort to bring the finances back into the black. It didn't pay off, and once I knew we were destined for the drop, I was offered the chance to walk, which I did.
Welsh Cup
Second Round: 0-4 vs Bryntirion Athletic (Bryntirion Stadium, Bryntirion)
Welsh Challenge Cup
Finished bottom of the group stage, pointless.
FAW Premier Cup
First Round: 3-0 vs Merthyr Tydfil (New Bridge Meadow, Haverfordwest)
Second Round: 4-2 vs Connah's Quay Nomads (New Bridge Meadow, Haverfordwest)
Quarter Final: 1-5 vs Swansea City (New Bridge Meadow, Haverfordwest)

Next stop for me meant another short flight, this time to Germany...
Tennis Borussia Berlin
Regionalliga Nord
2008/09
This side intrigued me when I was offered the post. New side in the Regionalliga after the formation of the 3. Bundesliga, and amateur, meaning no money for transfers, and none for wages. Never before have I managed an amateur side in Football Manager or Championship Manager, so I thought it'd be a challenge.
Not entered into any cups, presumably due to being such a lowly club or being amateur, so at least I don't have to worry about them, just keeping them up in the Regionalliga Nord so I can tear the squad apart for the new season. It was tough, but come six to go, I was safe, and challenging for the top half. A slight slip put pay to it, finishing in a comfortable eleventh position.

Shedloads of players were brought in to replace the carp I had from the previous season. A very stop-start season, but we were never in danger of dropping. So I thought I done well, keeping TeBe up and getting the club's coffers up to £600k.
The board didn't agree, no new contract offered, and it's off on my merry way again.
Ungrateful bastards.

A month after leaving, I now find myself in England, at Blue Square North side Gateshead, with just nine kids on the books. Going to be fun.
