A better standard than those many companies who wash their hands of the bugs once you've paid.

The registration bug will be fixed and it makes sense to consolidate all fixes into one patch rather than issue a confusing series of mini patches. </BLOCKQUOTE>

The poor state of FM08 cannot be excused by the lack of quality/support in competing products.

I just hope SI dont have the attitude of "Oh well, its still better than the rest".

As for the single patch- I think you'll find most people would just like fixes now, whether they come in mini-patches or not.

A wait of 3 months after release is pretty poor, especially if SI are sitting on fixes for some of the game spoiling issues.

If they are not sitting on fixes then it just goes to show what an unfinished state the game was released in. </BLOCKQUOTE>

At last a post with some sense in it. Thanks George.

My thoughts on this are that the paying customers are disappointed by FM08 because we have come to expect better from SI.

If you take FM and stand it against the competition only, then it stands up well. However if you follow the history of FM and compare each new version against it's predecessor then it in my opinion it does come out badly.

It's not that 08 is a bad game or in any way unplayable it's just not quite good enough to warrant the extra money etc. Combine that with a few of the adverse features (read bugs) that still exist and you get the stupid rantings of the op. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Bingo this nails the issue. Well said Easy_Pickings. FM08 is great when compared to all the others but is poor by SI's own standards. Lets be honest 08 is an iteration of 07 and 07 was an iteration of 06 etc. The code base should be bedding down now not getting worse. SI really only have themselves to blame. They set the bar so high.

I think peoples opinions as to whether the game is enjoyable or not varies depending on how you play the game.
Myself I like to watch the games in full (yes there are some of us out there!). I think the more you watch of the game the more you notice the match engine issues. If someone only watches key highlights these issues may not be as noticeable.

OP, you sound just like every other FIFA forum poster that constantly screams of extreme(ly stupid) actions to be taken, with complete disregard of reason.

btw, the fact that all the other football manager games suck do not make FM08 an excellent product. I am forgivable that teh product is not a perfect one when... but what really ****es me off is the lack of effort to solve the BIG spanish registration bug and the lack of response from teh SI... at least they should give us a timeline of when 802 will be out (if ever)...

the fact that FM is the best football management game in the market makes them lazy... i dun see much improvement in FM 08 as compared to FM 07. They shouldnt be focusing on giving the regen 'faces' (who cares?) but to make sure bugs like the spanish registration bug never happen!!

releasing mini patches is not the way to go, SI have repeated on many occasions that tweaking or fixing one aspect of the game can have a knock on effect and screw up another part of the game, what would happen then is more people moaning about new bugs. I would rather wait for a fully tested patch with no side effects.

Oh my, this thread is the worst of the year. Worst of the century already. There are a few things I dislike every year, it is that I can start a real career with a new game not before february. I dislike that every year there are clear bugs in the release version of a fm game who are just neglected to release it on time. Apparently there needs to be a better work balance to finish things better in time.

But Football Manager is one of the very few games I buy. I have been here for years and SI show in my opinion great interest in their product, great commitment. Are polite and open to the customers. I do believe they work hard, I see them coming on these forums when they don't need to. When it is far beyond normal work times. Releasing patches on midnight, god knows why. Responding to the biggest potatoheads of this world, imo useless but they do.

Talking about that, I see them posting a lot less on this forum lately? Maybe there is too much criticism causing that.

What the hell i elect this guy as the president and he is not doing the perfect job. He better retire now and let somebody who is capable to do his job perfectly to take over. I have paid my tax and i am not going to wait for another 4 year for another election....so this is my suggestion.

Even i am very disappointed with SI too, i still find the starter's suggestion very silly.

I dont think SI will or have to sell their game to some companies. However, as a fact SI keep releasing their yearly updated FM with fewer time and more bugs, they will backfire themselves very soon.

Congratulations. If there was a prize for the most idiotic, useless and most unconstructive post yet to be seen on these forums you would be in line to win it.
