Can you read?

It is the standard of all other management simulations. And the patch fixed it in my game, give it another try.

I find it quite hilarious the people who really are p'd off about the game yet only complain on a forum. If you are truely annoyed and want a refund make a formal complaint to Si and request said refund. On what planet would you assume that they will listen to you on a forum.

Just to put things straight I have plenty of issues with the game and certain aspects which aren't bugged but haven't been improved or changed in years but I still find it playable and highly addictive.

Install the patch again, if it doens't work this time make a formal complaint. Simple as.

A better standard than those many companies who wash their hands of the bugs once you've paid.

The registration bug will be fixed and it makes sense to consolidate all fixes into one patch rather than issue a confusing series of mini patches.

Perhaps so. But I challenge anyone to make a game of this depth and level of interaction, with this may variables to consider, in such a time-frame, without generating bugs.

The game has such a level of depth that bugs, sadly, are inevitable. Instead of damning SI for making patches, be thankful that they do. Let them know the issues you have found. I believe SI has a good level of customer service, but it has to be a two-way relationship.

If you don't like the game, you're under no obligation to buy it. If you do buy it, of course you have a right to voice an opinion, but constructive criticism is far better than "OMG this game suxx y dunt sum1 else do it 2 many bugs". That's just idiocy.
Have no problem with bugs, just that these were known, SI didnt already have a surefire fix and the game shouldnt have been released in the state it was.

The fact that its now taking SI around 3 months after release to get us fixes for some pretty bad issues just shows what a poor decision to release the game "as is" was.

The poor state of FM08 cannot be excused by the lack of quality/support in competing products.

I just hope SI dont have the attitude of "Oh well, its still better than the rest".

As for the single patch- I think you'll find most people would just like fixes now, whether they come in mini-patches or not.

A wait of 3 months after release is pretty poor, especially if SI are sitting on fixes for some of the game spoiling issues.

If they are not sitting on fixes then it just goes to show what an unfinished state the game was released in.

Have you even played CM08 or other any current manager game???

Go do it, now... it'll make you feel oh so grateful for what SI offer us.

At last a post with some sense in it. Thanks George.

My thoughts on this are that the paying customers are disappointed by FM08 because we have come to expect better from SI.

If you take FM and stand it against the competition only, then it stands up well. However if you follow the history of FM and compare each new version against it's predecessor then it in my opinion it does come out badly.

It's not that 08 is a bad game or in any way unplayable it's just not quite good enough to warrant the extra money etc. Combine that with a few of the adverse features (read bugs) that still exist and you get the stupid rantings of the op.

I agree with the idea of mini patches especially for confidence etc and it is really irritating that it was released with the bugs but I honestly can't find anything in the game that is so bad I wouldn't play it. IMHO it is still playable and whilst 3 months is far too long to wait for a solution but I still look forward to the amount of gaming i'll get done in the interim.

What got me about this post is that it would have to be dramatically flawed for it to be unplayable but then again this is the first version of the game in which I have used a patch and I still found it's predecessors just as playable.
