I downloaded the new patch last night becuase i finally decided to start a new game from the last patch i play long careers 10+ years, when i take over a club i usually sack all coaches and rehire my own group but i am having trouble finding 7 star coaches with this new patch??

Do you also have this problem? what to do? if i hire 5 star coaches do they help youth development as quickly as 7 star coaches? i like my youths to progress at minimum pace of 20+ CA so they hit peak at 22-23 any tips?

sorry, but is there a new patch available? or is it just an update? have there been any changes to the match engine etc? i saw that olly kennedy released a post on 31st decemember 2007 about and updated patch, what does this include? can someone help?!

might be stating the obvious, but it depends on the club you're at. as liverpool, i always do the same with my staff, and i have all the categories on 7* rating, for all my squads.

A lot of coaches have random attributes so there won't be the same selection of 7 star coaches each game.

is there much difference between 6 and 7 star rated coaches? how about 5 and 7 star rated coaches?? i only need coaches for youngsters to be honest, i love nuturing talent that makes the game fun.... in my last game i had 16 regens trained out of a squad of 24


can you tell me how 5 rated coaches do in youth development...

It takes time. You have just started so unlikely to get 7* coaches unless you are at a huge club. Get in High rated coaches and let them delevop, when you are successful they will either improve or you will able to attract better staff. Some Coaches seem to get better some worse. I've just started a game at Newcastle and have the same philopsy as you, I have lots of Coaches and try to get 7* on all but I couldn't so Im like 6* across the board except 5* for Set Pieces & Shooting. I sacked one coach and brough in another and know have 7* / 6* across the board in 2nd Season.

Be patient with Staff just as with Youth player.
