I tried using the search option.

I know.

I thought I read somewhere that with a bid of fiddling in one of the folders you can switch huge data base on?

Maybe I was ****ed up at the time I don't know.

I think I remeber reading a thread for FM07 in which it was stated that you could get a huge database, so if this is the case, then I imagine it would be possible this time around.

So I guess it's back to using the search function for you

What changes in choosing the database size? Numbers of players loaded?

It has been removed from this year fm, as it was causing problems

There was a skin for FM07 which allowed you to select it, but when I did it I had nothing but problems so I wouldn't even bother with tbh.
