I would say that to state the game is "totally unplayable" is perhaps rather harsh, although the problems with Spanish registration is for me a huge dissapointment. Now living in Spain and "knowing" more about the local teams, I was really looking forward to playing a Spanish save. (It's been back to the Blue Square North for me

)
I'm a British expat living in Spain, I've played the series since the very beginning with CM on an Amiga. I do believe the series has got better every release, including this one. I also appreciate that making such a complex piece of software, without the appearance of bugs, is nigh on impossible.
The most worrying thing though, moreso for SI, is that their inability to have solved the problem at hand before now, will undoubtably have a negative impact on current and future game sales.
As
Ackter posted earlier in the thread, for it to have taken so long and still not yet be fixed, suggests that the problem is perhaps deep rooted in the coding and difficult to fix.
Given the apparent backlash from people on the forums regarding a number of issues, including this, it's hardly surprising that SI are also probably taking their time and testing things thoroughly before releasing the next patch.
Alot of people are complaining and will continue to do so, until and possibly even after the next patch. To be fair to SI, I would imagine they are more or less on top of the problems and are in the process of testing. I believe they would rather continue working towards a comprehensive solution, fully tested before releasing it.
With that in mind, the continual posting about "when is the patch out" will probably go unanswered until they know for certain themselves. Just imagine the backlash if they release a patch that's not fixed the problems, or they delay the release of such a patch as it's not quite ready.
It might be nice of SI to say that they are fixing or testing the fixes of the issues at hand, at least to appease the angry masses, as a general response. I can quite appreciate any non-commital on there part however, to "name" a date.
