More and more i see arguments on here about the game. But one answer could be just to have the staff appear and answer the questions on here more often.

No says that the staff should take abuse and any abusive threads should be rightly ignored, But some are good topics and should be answered but are just ignored.

Now that must gets some people's backs up. More interaction by the staff would go a long way here i think. I have seen answers that say, Oh i am not part of that team or that person knows that answer to this question or whatever, Well those people that do hold the answers should be on here.

I am not saying all the time, But honestly everyone must agree staff who do hold the answers to specific questions should be on here a bit more often. It is just looking more and more like SI just don't give a hoot.

Remember, Not everyone will agree with certain things in life. But i think that is the main complaint around here these days.

There are around 100 bugs give or take a few,it does not matter how minor or major, a bug is a bug. Go to the forums and see how many complaints of bugs there are, how many different types and they still keep coming, so before you fly to the defence of an ailing game, think before you speak!!!!
I can only assume you have absolutley no understanding of how the games industry works, especially with PC games.

Almost every single game out there has bugs in it. Heck, I'd imagine there's even a bug in Minesweeper somewhere. Most companies nowadays have a large number of people employed to find these bugs. They will report these bugs, which will then be prioritsed in terms of severity and fixibility. For games like Zelda and Halo, this isn't too much of a problem. Deadlines can be moved back if needed so all but the most bizarre bugs can be fixed. Sadly, games like FM that, are released annually don't have this luxury. Deadlines are much tighter as publishers aim to get the game out so that it can compete with the competition. Whilst FM is by far the biggest and best football management game on the market. If the game was released much later, or not until the next season, then it's quite possible that both CM and FIFA manager could overtake FM as the top football management game in terms of sales. Because of this, it's inevtiable that, with the increasing complexity and size of FM, more and more bugs are likely to creep in and not be fixed for release. The publishers want the game out as soon as possible to maximise profits, which is fair enough, they are a business, and only a liar or a fool would claim they would not to do the same. This means the developers are left with little choice but to leave some bugs in as the time is not there to fix as many.

Sadly, the games industry is increasingly moving down this path. With increased internet usage, most gamers now have access to the web and are able to download patches, which is enabling games to be released in less then satisfactory conditions. Whilst I think people have every right to complain about bugs, theres a way to go about it. Rants and abuse achieves bugger all other then making the poster look like a mong, whilst constructive criticism gives useful feedback for SI to use and improve the game. Personally, I think we should be greatful that SI take so much time visiting these forums and trying to improve the game and peoples enjoyment of FM. Many companies don't even release patches for their games, regardless of how poor a state it is released, yet SI released a beta patch just to keep people happy. This surely shows that contrary to the believes of many recently, SI actually care about the quality of their product.

I agree, but you must realise that these people that are meant to be answering questions all day on the forums are working on fixing the exact things that people like the OP are whining about.

Can't have your cake and eat it I'm afraid.

I never said they should be on here all day. What i am saying is that maybe a bit more often. Surely they can do this? Or why not employ more people who can deal with this type of thing?

Don't waste your time. Just don't buy the game immediately next year. Let them see that their fecking lies and incompetence can not go unpunished.

I suggest we all do that.
Since SEGA takeover, SI is no longer a customer oriented gameshop. It's all about revenue and profit in the corporate world, covered by false advertising. It seems that SI fanbase is just being exploited to push products like FM 2008 and FM Live...
Obviously, SI should try much HARDER to restore fan confidence

How is this game not fun? Sure there are a few bugs here and there, and the tactics seem to randomly not be followed at times, and some results seem rigged (England losing 4-1 to luxemburg after winning the worldcup over Brazil 7-1) but I can live with that.

Currently err... let's see... 12 seasons into a game. And I've had a lot of fun with international management and my Inter team are doing quite well, even though I lost my supercup final to Juventus 2-1 in the 95th minute (damn you ref)

I would say it's been significantly improved since it's release with the 8.0.1 patch, and the only thing that frustrates me is that strikers seem to miss the most riddiculus shots despite having above 17 in finishing and compusure...

But to make my point, it's been significantly improved and I feel some of this criticism is unjust towards SI, who was kind enough to release a patch before february.

Please dont suggest we all do anything. If u want to do it fine, but i think most people are sensible enough to have their own opinions.

Joseboy,

Yes the game has bugs. Yes it is not anywhere near perfect. Yes, I too find it to be a step back from previous versions. But, there really is no need for name calling and personal slurs. Letting your temper get the better of you isn't going to change anything. In fact, as you can see, it is keeping developers of the game AWAY from these forums and I can't blame them. Who wants to log on and view personal insults and still have the patience to respond to queries? If posts like these keep the developers away, then the game is never going to be anywhere near the level of 'playability' you want it to be. You can insult me now if you want.

According to the 'These Forums' thread that Miles started and comments by Ter the SI guys don't particularly want to come on here at the moment. It has been around three mon ths since that thread was started and there have been some good ideas suggested in it by some of the more reasonable forum members but - again - to the outside world nothing appears to be going on to bring in the changes that may get SI staff on here a bit more than they have been.

The sooner changes are made the better.

This thread has become similar to a car crash. I know it's horrible and I should not participate by looking .... but I just can't help myself.

Is it any wonder that SI are abandoning the forums when you see the idiotic behaviour of some of the people on here?

You don't seem to appreciate how important the current climate is with this game. SI have stated their intentions with the proposed introduction of FM Live and unless we are very careful we will have no place to discuss the future of this game we love so much until it is too late.

I believe that we had a great relationship in the past. SI produced a good game, we helped to find the bugs, they were fixed and we then had a great playable game after a patch or two. And then on to the next year we went, and so on.

For the past year or so, the interaction has been much reduced from SI on these forums and I personally feel that someone somewhere is losing grip of what made this game a great series to be involved with and play.

But this is just my opinion and one that I feel strongly about. I make my posts in a considered manner (usually) and try to refrain from personal insults (usually) and bad language. Why? Because I want my views and those of others to be taken seriously.

Please take a moment to think about your post before sending it.

Is it relevant?
Is it constructive?
Could it be interpreted as insulting, idiotic or offensive?
Is there a point?

Do what you can to preserve the function of these forums please. SI can use the idiots on these forums as an excuse not to get involved in constructive discussions. I want to continue playing the FM series next year and for the foreseeable future, but I won't unless some things change. Don't ruin it for me and the others that want to use these forums to try to get these changes.
