Joseboy, saying there are 100s of bugs is a complete exageration, yes there are bugs which are spoiling some peoples enjoyment of the game but the abuse you have given out in this thread helps no one.

I think there are a lot of valid points being lost in quite legitimate anger.
FM 08 was seen to be rushed out with a lot of bugs in it. We waited for a patch that was expected on release day, then when it finally was long overdue released was woefully inadequate and still full of some absolute game killing bugs. I, personally would expect that once the registration issue was noticed that the 'updated build' of 8.01 should be rushed out within a week at latest.
Instead now we're months on and to the outside eye, it appears that FM 08 has been abandoned, the makers and development team now instead beta testing FM Live while the core game is a mess. Quite honestly I would expect that by December at the VERY latest, there should have been two patches out that by and large fixed the game. The February transfer update should just put the finishing touches on it, and ideally should be purely a data update with nothing more needed. Instead many of us are relying on it to just bring the game up to 'acceptable', let alone perfect and polished.
A lot of long term customers and supporters of the team and franchise are very disillusioned and just want to be reassured that the team accepts things are wrong and are looking to rectify it. Supporters of the team are hoping that the manager will be looking to save us from relegation instead of eyeing up the next club to jump to and abandoning us!

Bod, you are another who clearly cannot see the full picture. WAKE UP LITTLE MAN.
There are around 100 bugs give or take a few,it does not matter how minor or major, a bug is a bug. Go to the forums and see how many complaints of bugs there are, how many different types and they still keep coming, so before you fly to the defence of an ailing game, think before you speak!!!!

Firstly, I think Marc Vaughan's post was not intended as a defense for bugs, but as a response to the many who claim the game to be unplayable.
As he also said, he doesn't work on FM PC, so to whinge at him is doing nothing. Ter, I believe, works on the skin, so he too has nothing to do with the so called 'game ruining' bugs.
The patch fixed all the problems I was having with the game, including one on ones, fouls from corners and the like. Playing in the Blue Square Premier, I am finding absolutely nothing wrong with the game.
However, if you are, why not:
a) Return the game?
- Game and Gamestation (where i buy all my games) are both great with returns, and you don't even need the receipt to return them for store credit.
b) Be constructive
- Contact someone who does work on the PC side of FM, rewrite the code that you think is bugged, you never know, it might be used? Oh.. you don't know how to write C++? Well why am I not surprised.
c) Don't buy any future version.
- Someone posted that they have 'given SI 100s' of pounds. You fool. Paying so much to a company that provides 'unplayable' games?

| I'm almost 100% sure that FM08 and FM Live are done by completely different teams of people.

| I would not waste your breath, people who are having problems demand to be listened to but anyone who is finding the game playable they do not want to listen to at all. Yes there are bugs in the game but from my own experience they are not game breakers, not to say some bugs do not affect other people. Its just the way certain people go about expressing themselves.

Theres various reasons why a game can be unplayable and I think some people jump to the conclusion that a bug has ruined their game. While there are bugs in FM08, its not the only reason people can't play games.
Other reasons it can be unplayable:
For example, little or no challenge when playing as the same team or a leading team. You lose a few games and turn the game off.
I started a game as Fulham and in my first season finished 7th and qualified for Europe. Second season syndrome and I had raised expectations couldn't cope and resigned before I was sacked with the club 13th. I bought good players and watched Felix Magath destroy Isaac Boakye who was in top form and leave Alex Teixeira in the reserves. I was out of a job for 5 days before Ipswich approached me to save them from relegation. I took over in January and brought in a few freebies, but sadly after 14 games I was sacked after failing to get out of the relegation zone. Then I was approached by Crystal Palace, who were in League 1, and took over from David Platt. I finished 13th moving them up 3 places from where they were. All this in 2 seasons! So I have decided to give it a real go for the title and bought in a few experienced players as well as a few youths from Rangers and Hearts who will be World Class according to my scout. The season started and I have won one game and lost the other.
A little problem is the confidence because after the 10 games of me in charge season they were only satisfied and very disappointed with me for the FA Cup run, but I hadn't even had the chance to play any games as they were knocked out!
I think by running other leagues improves the competition others clubs have in Europe and also offers the chance of better regens coming through from other countries. It also offers the opportunity of continental success, I have been linked to the Schalke post, but feel its too early to leave Palace.

They are- would be interesting to know how many of the FM Live team worked on previous versions of FM, and how many of the FM team are new to FM.
Just because they are different teams it doesnt mean FMLive couldnt be a reason why FM08 has had a nightmare debut.

Been a fan of these games since the classic champ mans. I think the game is playable as many people also say but some of the bugs in the game are pretty poor. I posted on data issues about my own team hibs when game came out and not many things where dealt with for the patchs including the fact they had wrong player photos on wrong players. Which wasnt just pointed out by me but a number of other hibs supporters. The Patch fixed a few things but a bug i noticed recently was in the spanish league where teams i applied for and eventually took the job where only giving me £0 for a wage budget This eventually corrects at end of season but the problem being that the game ended up running me into serious debt. I have also noticed a number of other problems as mentioned above. I still think the game is playable but i agree with the person above if there was a list of the things that SI where going to deal with for the next patch i think alot of these complaints would dissapear. The main problem being whether people think SI are actually fixing or attempting to fix the problems and bugs in the game because there has been quite a big time period between the release of game and now and quite alot of the problems still remain.
