So what are constructive posts exactly?
Is this the ones where the no brainers and the wannabe forum mods like Jon Farina and Neji come on praise you for soing round the clock work on the game to get it fixed for us punters?
Well I tell you what, and this is for the previously mentioned pair of wannabe's, I WILL NOT praise for someone doing something they should be!!! It's their job goddammit, if they managed to release a playable AND enjoyable AND realistic game then these problems would not have arisen. OR REGULAR updates about what the hell is going on with regards to fixing the game. Come on even the most patriotic SI bumlicker can se the game is ABSOLUTELY RIDDLED with bugs. Anyway let's not go over covered ground, point is not enough is being done, ALL EFFORTS should be dedicated to sorting the game out. Here is an IDEA, if this game isn't sorted by the end of the season, why don't show a goodwill gesture to your many fans the world over and replace FM08 with the new 09 free by doing a swap. It's the least you could do!!!!
PS. Neji, your quote; Why didn't you just take the game back if you didn't like it? The bugs are being fixed, maybe not as quickly as they could have been but they are being fixed. Like every other PC game, it requires patches for bugs. It's not like SI are sitting back laughing at us. If you didn't like the game, just get your money back, post bugs you find in the bugs forum and wait for the next game or the new patch. GO back to '07, GREAT game and few bugs in it patched up.
1/ I paid money for the game so I have a right to complain if it is not as promised on the cover(false marketing).
2/ I will not take it back as I am still successful, the point being there are many out there who aren't but get fobbed off because they 'aren't good enough'. Bottom line is, I may be successful but I have a tactic which creates 30+ chances per game which is a JOKE. Doesn't happen, not week in week out.
3/Why should I go back to 07, I bought 08 for the new features and updated squads. If that wasn't the case I would have carried on with 07 and not purchased 08.
4/ I have posted bugs in bugs forum, BUT THEY DON'T GET DEALT WITH, AS MANY PEOPLE ARE FRUSTRATED. AGAIN BOTTOM LINE IS THE GAME IS A TOTAL AND UTTER MESS UP FROM THE WORD GO, BUG UPON BUG. SI DON'T KNOW HOW TO COPE, THEY GAME NEEDS A TOTAL REWRITE.
To CHJ, King of Scotland mate!!!! LOL Quote:

Ter, if you gave adequate explanations from an early point then people wouldn't be getting as frustrated and resorting to rants and abuse.
the trouble is you and si have been making some of the best games for their era in the last decade+, and people become hooked or addicted.
Therefore when standards start to slip people get annoyeed and wonder why the game is getting worse rather than better.
personally i am pretty frustrated by this game and have played it far less than in previous years as bugs imo have made it not unplayable but nowhere near as enjoyable.
i've given si £100's but the last £25 was a mistake
| That pretty much how it goes.
At the bugs forum "minor" questions get answered and the big "bugs/flaws or features" receive no zttention. (take a look there)
Naturally that leads to frustration etc which boils out by fuming posts etc.
It would much easier to you and all if you could just keep people informed what is going on. Put a sticky up there and list the issues you fixing/investigating/looking at for the patch...and just keep it updated.
By doing that I think +50% of the rants etc would go away. </BLOCKQUOTE>

| I really didn't want to get involved in this thread and in doing so help to bump it up the list again, however .....
The point made here by "zeke" is an important one. We've all got some frustrations with the game, but most of us realise how this works and put up with it. It is however very unfair (and I find my own patience wearing thin at times) because we do not know what is being addressed until the patch comes out (and by that time it is too late). If we knew what was being addressed, I would at least know what was being done.
At the moment, I do not know what bugs are being dealt with and those that have slipped through the net. On the bugs forum it is very unclear as to what bugs are being noted by SI and what bug reports are being overlooked.
Surely it would help us all if SI were to take this on board and keep a sticky list of the items that are indeed being dealt with.
As for the comments by the SI team on here, I believe that Marc's comments were well intentioned but completely inappropriate given the nature of the original post, but the other people on here have a responsibility also. Please be civil, otherwise there is no chance of having discussions with the SI team. I can understand SI's reluctance to be as involved in the forums as they were at one stage, but they cannot use this as an excuse for not doing what they can to help the majority of those people on here who are constructive but find that they rarely receive feedback or comments.
If anyone here is so frustrated at the lack of response from SI, then can I suggest you write a letter. If you really want something done you need to make it stand out from the other noise (and nonsense) on these forums. Send a letter and I'd be surprised if you did not receive some feedback thereafter (providing of course it contains civil language).
Just my thoughts.

been done over the course of, 1/ Pre release and 2/ after release? The answer is unfortunately no.
| To be honest, I can't really see why people are still complaining. I'm in 2017 with Arsenal in my current game and I can't say that I have noted any serious bugs. The only frustrating issue is perhaps when you have 23 goals on target, while the other team has 2, and the result ends 1-1.

FM 08 has a lot more features, therefore the coding is going to be more complex and advanced.
With this, there are bound to be mistakes in it.

Err, I didn't meant to quote, and it should read: 23 shots on target, not goals.

Whilst I tend to feel that SI, by and large, do a pretty good job, I have to wonder if they understand the notion of going the extra mile for the customer. I'm not saying they should rush a patch through every month. But Marc Vaughan said 'I don't work on FM PC anymore, and therefore can't comment on any future patch releases', or words to that effect. But would it really be that hard to find out? I appreciate that Marc comes to the forums and contributes. But surely it wouldn't be that hard, having decided to contribute, to at least find something out.

I agree with the original poster, however abuse is not the way forward but it just shows the frustration with from this version, the game has got worse and huge bugs make it unplayable,SI have no answers and choose to stay away from the forum and negative comments, sometimes the truth hurts. Quote: |
SI do our utmost to ensure that all our games are as stable, playable and fun as possible straight out of the box.
| Well the game is unstable with bugs as previously stated most notable the registration in spanish league.
Technically the game is playable but definately not fun straight out of box and not after current patches. Quote: |
Ackter was one of the guys who worked on the PC version so he too can verify just how much effort was put into the series. The fact of the matter is - not all problems can be found, I mean I can't say much about it but ultimately, even though days, weeks & months are spent on this game, pretty much 24/7 for the entire testing period there is no way the amount of testing we did, and the future testers will do, will ever equate to the actual users quantity of play.
| The bugs are blatant so i dont know which part of the game has been tested but it, the number of shots and misses in a game is blatant in the first few seasons, so the testing period surely is not too long, the spanish registration bug i came across in season 3( my only spanish experience so dont know if it happens earlier) , yet again i wouldnt say that this is too long into the game to test.
End of the day the game has problems , nobody has answers , people are getting frustrated and SI have one chance with the next patch to fix the whole mess to save their reputation. Personally i would rather see them take their time to some extent with the next patch, to get the basics right.

FM 08 has a lot more features, therefore the coding is going to be more complex and advanced.
With this, there are bound to be mistakes in it.[/QUOTE]Thats why they should pre test it properly, which obviously hasn't been done or they would have noticed 3 or 4 of the 100's of bugs in the game. An Idea, why don't they make it easier on themselves and produce agame that they are actually capable of doing so and stop adding needless features that causeit to be more complex and advance. OH great look, we have tactics sliders and numerous rubbish too choose from, this will make the game great now.....Well actually it won't because there's a corner and penalty bug now because we added a new feature. Oh damn. Oh look we can play an amazing tactic and create so many chances by doing this run on that mentality with this creative freedom and playing wide......Yeah but you may make 25 shots a game but this new bug has just come from nowhere and AI 'Octokeepers' are rarely beaten, oh look counter attack and craig bell , yeah the guy with the wooden leg has just scored a hat trick into my ..... oh no someone has stolen my keepers arms...crazy bugs!!! Oh well never mind the bugs, at least can play with these fun sliders...wooooo ooooohhhh....

i have to add i think this game is unplayable imo for the following reason.
as there are so many bugs even post patch i really can't feel motivated to play a game that i know i won't enjoy anywhere near the amount of previous fm's.
it doesn't feel right playing when i knoe no matter how good my players are i won't be able to sell them and i'll have to pay through the roof to buy
i won't play fm 07 because of the out of date squads and to be honest i've played it too much
