Why didn't you just take the game back if you didn't like it? The bugs are being fixed, maybe not as quickly as they could have been but they are being fixed. Like every other PC game, it requires patches for bugs. It's not like SI are sitting back laughing at us. If you didn't like the game, just get your money back, post bugs you find in the bugs forum and wait for the next game or the new patch. GO back to '07, GREAT game and few bugs in it patched up.

And to Wolfsong, I've played the game until 2029 and the quality of regens seems spot on. Some of them don't progress quite as fast as in previous versions but their stats are looking great. I recently moved to manager Portsmouth and there is alot of quality to choose from.

Jose I think you should be named king of england. You said everything ive wanted to rant about and its true they just dont seem to care. I just want to know are the people who make this game football fans or not. They never seem to discuss the issues that we want to know about. so unless they release a patch that turns this game into the best ever I will find it hard to buy fm 09. and go back to championship manager 01/02! SI SORT THIS GAME !OUT

TYes there are issues. Yes we all would like these issues resolved as soon as possible but...

...when are people going to learn that vitriolic and abusive posts get you nowhere.

Try having a problem with let's say, a domestic appliance...

...you phone the call centre and speak to an operator, but you shout, swear and are generally abusive. What do you think will happen apart from the operator putting the phone down!!

If people were more prepared to make constructive comments regarding their problems, in a sensitive and clearly thought manner, then I'm sure they would get replies more to their liking. Yes it's annoying at times if something does'nt work as expected, but ranting and raving never solved any problems that I know of.

The OP did get a response from not only a representative of SI, but a co-founder of the game. To quote Marc...

Quote:
I'm sorry to hear you aren't enjoying the game. SI do our utmost to ensure that all our games are as stable, playable and fun as possible straight out of the box.

We do try to support the games to the best of our abilities and hope to change your mind regarding FM08 at some stage in the future.

I'm afraid I don't work on FM PC these days so regarding possible future patches for that product I"m afraid I can't comment
...Marc is apologetic that the OP does'nt enjoy the game and is pointing to the fact that they are obviously working to solve the issue with the statement
Quote:

I think that Marc is also pointing out to the OP that the game is playable and many people are enjoying playing the game through many seasons, quoting his own example of 30 seasons.

Marc even finishes with the statement
Quote:
So in short I'm sorry you don't like this version, I personally am enjoying it (as are a quite a few other people. We will obviously continue to try and improve upon its current status and I hope soon you will be in a situation where you enjoy it as much as I do.
What clearer acknowledgement does the OP want that SI accept the game has issues and that they are working on them.

There's just no pleasing some people!

No answers to my questions, not just my questions but the majorty of players!
Marc said he doesn't work on FM PC so can't comment on any issues specific to that game.

Quote:
Also you SHOULD BE A WINNING PLAYER, didn't you create the game??
The best players of the game in the office tend to be those involved in QA as they are the ones playing it the most. There are various different areas of the game and nobody will know all the ins and outs of every area.

The response above is an insult to all of the fnas who feel cheated by this lousy game you have created, it's a joke and so are you SI.

As for you Marc Vaughan, this reply shows you are an ignorant self centred....I'll use the word fool but there are plenty other things you deserved to be called.
It's posts like this that are stopping us coming on the forums and posting. I'm certainly visiting a lot less and less these days like I used to in my spare time.

These are intended as fans forums to discuss our games constructively. They are not places to throw around abuse or rants. Please read the These Forums topic for more details.

Ter, if you gave adequate explanations from an early point then people wouldn't be getting as frustrated and resorting to rants and abuse.

the trouble is you and si have been making some of the best games for their era in the last decade+, and people become hooked or addicted.
Therefore when standards start to slip people get annoyeed and wonder why the game is getting worse rather than better.

personally i am pretty frustrated by this game and have played it far less than in previous years as bugs imo have made it not unplayable but nowhere near as enjoyable.

i've given si £100's but the last £25 was a mistake

Not what I said at all. It's all the abusive and deconstructive posts that are unwelcome and not something we want to see.

Constructive posts are always welcome

That pretty much how it goes.

At the bugs forum "minor" questions get answered and the big "bugs/flaws or features" receive no zttention. (take a look there)

Naturally that leads to frustration etc which boils out by fuming posts etc.

It would much easier to you and all if you could just keep people informed what is going on. Put a sticky up there and list the issues you fixing/investigating/looking at for the patch...and just keep it updated.

By doing that I think +50% of the rants etc would go away.
