Like somany other people on this game, I pick my team set up my tactics of choice and get stuck in, And generally things work out great up untill half way through the season, And thenit all goes wrong, So what do we do we give up on the tactic that has proven to be very effective for 18 games in search of a new one.

But my question is if it can work once then why cant it work again. I'll be honest with you im not sure what to do to overcome it, So im hoping we can all put down our ideas as to how others over come this problem. I look forward to hearing and testing your theoris.

Hi Jamie,

I do not suffer from re-ranking anymore.

I play global mentality with 1 player on individual mentality. My team plays better. They get better ratings and I dont have to fiddle with my tactics much.

Before discussing how to beat the re-ranking, we need to determine if there is re-ranking in the first place. As far as I know, there is no official words from SI on re-ranking.

My theory,

Using fancy dan tactics works to a degree. You initially perform much better than you should with the players you have at your disposal. This eventually causes teams to play against you in a defensive CA fashion. This results in your result drying up. You could opt to play more attacking to try and break the team down, however you do not have good enough players to do this successfully.

This is a problem, caused by the AI being too simplistic. The human player will initally outwit the normal AI, but then come up against the defensive AI and hit a brick wall.

Playing the game with simple tactics, results in the players and the formation being more important. This style of play requires building a squad of players who can compete. You then have the quality to deal with the defensive AI and utimately get promoted where the process starts again.

I may not be right, but am having much more fun and success playing this way.

I usually carry a first team squad of no more than 27 players. 2 sets of 11 plus a few up and comers. Playing in the fist eleven for me depends on your current performance. If you are currently rated an 8 or 9 you will get a spot before a 6 or 7. Works for me.
