Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Preventing opposing strikers from receing ball to their feet

One of the recommendations I've seen in scouting reports is to prevent an opposing team's strikers from receiving the ball to their feet. How does one do this?

I believe you can do this by setting the opposition instructions to closing down often on the player you don't want to get too many passes.

Hi yardmaster,

As closing down relates to the opposition player with the ball, you would already have failed if all you did was close down always.

If you have a good defender then use tight marking always. Also consider playing a DM to cut off the supply of through balls to the player.
