It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

this tactic is great against weaker teams, but I've been completely outplayed by stronger teams, even at home. i've found that all the position swapping to be strange indeed.

Ok thanks for the feedback everyone. It seems that away from home/against stronger teams it has maybe a bit of trouble. (Even though i managed to dominate Liverpool at home and win 3-0), so i will look on tweaking it for these games. Any more suggestions will be welcome.

Cheers for the feedback Aro, if you could maybe attempt to tweak the tactic defensively and see what the results bring, that would be great.

Should mention that I took off man marking, since I am uncomfortable with it. I think it needs some tweaking going into somewhat difficult to tough away matches

I would turn up the closing down on the defenders
I will try a few games just using zonal marking on the back four. Did you keep tight marking on for the centre backs or not?

Yep.

I got embarrassed by an Arsenal team without Thierry Henry away, 4-1. Came home and dominated Fulham, yet only won 1-0. They had one shot the entire game, but I kept scuffing chances, which I am afraid is the norm with this tactic. I think a target man like Smith is needed up front, since my striker Villa is pretty ineffective. Also, what led you to give the Smith/Saha striker such high CF? I don't ever notice this IRL.

Ok, changed the back four's marking to zonal, keeping tight marking on the centre backs. It seems to play better than with man marking as sometimes the defenders would be marking a man and letting a player just run though the middle with the ball.

Changed the FCL's creative freedom to 11 (normal). This is the striker which doesn't swap position with any other player. The striker seemed to be in a better position when received a pass or a cross, as he isn't running around all over the place, but rather to be in the right place at the right time.

Alan Smith scored a hat-trick when i changed the creative freedom to 11.
