hi, i've never used Opposition Instructions as i was not aware of them lol, but im confused as when you click on Opposition Instructions you have 2 screens (1 left and 1 right) the left is the team you are facing and you can change how you want them to play (ie)weaker foot. but on right side it just has 4 items, do you use that to play all opposing players in same way (ie)all players to weak foot.
do what ever youn want dude, i personally hard tackle all decent playersi.e. against man utd, gk(always no matter how good) rooney scholes carrick ronaldo giggs saha, depends on who i am but i would definately do gk. rooney ronaldo.
i normally close down always, hard tackle and show onto weaker foot
I used to always use 'show onto weaker foot, close down always and tight marking always' on their star plays but I found that when that player got the ball (esp if they were a striker) that all both my DCs rushed the player, leaving massive gaps in my defence for the 2nd striker to score a tap in. SO I never use them anymore but undoubtedly they work for lots of people so they must be useful if you understand them properly. Therefore I'd say be careful if your like me and don't really understand them but I think they just turn your defence from a highly drilled and organised outfit into a group of under 5's who all just chase the ball!
be advised that closing down can be good, especially for middies who like longshots--but it can get you in trouble as your players will often break defensive formation to close down.
against speedy teams i use very little closing down either in opposition or team settings, and play a deep line.
also if you show onto weaker foot, make sure their preferred foot isn't "either" :p
