Now, Steven Gerrard is a very good player but is he essential to my Liverpool team? The short answer is no, Xabi Alonso is the key player in the LFC team, with his drive, stamina and creativity.

Given Liverpool don't have a huge transfer budget, if I got a good offer for Gerrard I'd let him go. Also the fact that Mascherano and Sissoko are very good midfielders allows me to let Gerrard go.

I wouldn't let him go as the other 3 player's you have are all DM's . If you do sell Gerrard then replace him with Van der Vaart who is a steal at £11m.

in real life if lfc sells him, the fans will own the manager, not sure about in game, can easily replace him with nasri or vaart, maybe even bring in guardado as well.

In 08 with the huge bias on the AMC I wouldn't sell Gerrard, 07 yeah you could feasible get rid of him if you don't really use an AMC but this year you will want him.
