Im liverpool and have 10 mil to spend ona quality defender

Any suggestions?

Not sure how amazing you'll get for that money. Quality defenders for under £10m are pretty hard to come by in FM07 I've found.

If it's the first season then Petri Pasanen's a good little player for around £3.5 from Werder Bremen.

If you're playing pre-patched you might be able to get Micah Richards for around £10m, but that availability changes drastically if you're playing with a patch.

What about Coloccini? He's always gettable for <£10m and is a very capable CB. Sometimes gets confused and thinks he's in a boxing ring instead of on a football pitch but when he's behaved he can be a rock.

Ayala is gettable for cheap. He's not young but still got a couple of seasons in him.

If it's in the start of the game I'd recommend Ignaschevich on a free.

Then get Barzagli or Criscito for the long run.

He's on FM07, so he cant get Ignaschevich on a free.
If your in the first season, Corluka is probably the best opton, but if you're not quick enough, he may have moved now. Richards can be immense, but sometimes is PA can be quite poor. Barzagli was fantastic for me on my FM 07 Games, he's a good option. If you're a few seasons in, chances are Gerard Piqué will have moved to spain, if so, he should have a 10 mill release clause, always seems to happen.
