why is it that steven gerrard who is one of the worlds best players isnt that good whereas silva whos a good youngstar is amazing???

First, Gerrard is VERY good even if he doesnt have the stats that Silva does. Second, Gerrard is unfortunately cursed with the FM08 CM/DM syndrome whereby any player who's a CM or a DM, no matter how good he is and no matter how good he plays in any game, is always more likely to get 6's & 7's ratings than 8's or 9's. Just look at his pass completion rate and if that's good, he's doing his job. A ST or wingers have got it easier when it comes to getting ratings in FM08. Silva is a winger and that's why he'll always peform better (according to ratings). Fabregas hardly ever gets a rating of more than 7.3 for the season for me. And that's when he's played really well. Mostly its less than that. Yet he's still consistently picking up "best player" awards. If you play Gerrard on the wings, you'll probably see him getting a better AR in the game.
