Now don't get me wrong - I love FM and I love the LLM approach to the game. But from reading other people's updates on here, it seems I'm not the only one following a rather predictable pattern with my saves.
Season 1 - finish higher than expected, but just miss out on playoffs.
Season 2 - finish in playoffs, but lose in final.
Season 3 - win the league at a canter.
Season 4 - the board expects a 'relegation battle' Instead, you finish in the playoffs and lose in the final.
Season 5 - you win the league easily again.
etc. etc. etc.
My hope for FM 2006 is that such a pattern does not form and that the game offers the kind of unpredictability of 'real' football...

This game is all about moving in the right direction season after season…. Form and momentum. That applies to the Premiership and the Conference. A good manager brings that out and a pattern emerges.
For not so good managers it doesn’t work like that…. Crap managers perhaps. It’s called “Not meeting expectations”. Then sometimes you get the sack. And sometimes you turn things around and move forward and move in the right direction for an unspecified and unpredictable period of time. And then things turn bad. You never know what’s gonna happen if you’re a crap manager.
