Hi friends,
I made my comeback to FM with the 2006 version. I resisted the part to manage a top team and went straight back to the LLM. Starting as an unemployed in Belgium, I found myself applying to Willebroek FC. After a few days, I got a message from the board, stating they are giving me a chance.
First stop: Board expectations. They want me to "fight bravely" against regelation. A quick look at my working material told me that I would manage to be allright. Some mediocre players and a few bad ones. A transfer funds of €12,000 and a weekly wage budget at €3,000.
I got kicked out of the cup in the 3rd round, but I picked up a modest €2,000, good enough for a little investment. I send my one and only scout to holland, germany and france. No results :/ So I told him to scout our domestic league(s). He did a better job there.
Players out end of season: 5
Players out transfer money: €35,000
Players in end of season: 7 (all of them under age 25, so thats ok, because I'm doing a "rejuvenation" policy
Players in transfer cost: €2,000 (bought 2 for €1,000 each, 5 on Bosman)
About mid competion, I found myself hanging about at spot 7-5. The board was pleased and so was I. Confident that I would know a fallback, I started the second half of the competition. Boy, I was supprised when the competition ended! I finished 3rd and was selected for the playoffs. I lost my first match leg 1 with 2-1 and leg 2 with 1-2. No promotion for me this year.
So I'm curious about my new goal this season. I might put an application out for a second coach and an additional scout.
I'll post an update when I finish season 2.
Goodafternoon
