Rep Power: 0 | Question About Conference National Setup
If I take an English Conference National team, as a long-term career, am I able to promote it all the way up to Premiership (say, in about 10 to 15 seasons)?
Not asking if its probable, just if its possible...
If not, then would take a League 2 team, I suppose...
I am a complete newb, so be gentle in flaming...

Cool... so, I suppose, that Conference National is the league below League 2, right? So taking a team from CN to Premier would involve 4 promotions (to League 2, then League 1, then Championship and finally to Premier).
Long journey, but I would think that this path would be the most satisfying in terms of long-term career... most likely improbable, but challanging... |

It would be even more nice if you started in Conference North/South, but Conference is okay. But league 2...no.

Allrighty then - Conference North/South it is...
So, then, it would be 5 promotions...
Settled on St. Albans City, an onscure, semi-professional team with no history of winning (at least in the landmarks/competitions page)... only reason is that I fondly remember the city as a great drinkin place when I played rugby there... |

| Conference is OK for a newbie wanting to sharpen his teeth and try out LLM. If somebody wants to attempt on a proper career and get taken seriously here, then they should start in the lowest division.

"Conference" at the start of quinny's post means Conference National, one level above Conf N/S.

Ah. okay - thanks...
St. Albans looks like a good challange - $0 for transfers and a whopping $4500 p/w budget...

Have you done the LLM thing before? Not meaning to be critical but you've got plenty to think about before promotions, especially 5 of them, come into the equation.
Good Luck, and if you keep your save going I'd be interested to see how you go (after 3 seasons minimum, of course) |
