Default Workington Reds

Just wondered if anyone else is playing as Workington Reds and how they're getting on as I'm getting very frustrated with it! They're classed as relegation battlers but I do feel I can get them promoted with a good run. My first season I had a great start, a good few wins and halfway through the season I was in 6th place, just outside the playoffs and having plenty of 1-0 wins using a modified 4-4-2 with a T shape in midfield using a DM in front of the back 4 with 3 across the middle. Unfortunately I got in a rut and had an awful run, couldn't win to save my life! Ended up 12th, 7 points outside the playoffs.

Second season I'm just over halfway through.. Managed to pick up a striker from Carlisle who's now worth 60k, sold a homegrown striker for 300k which put some fantastic money in the bank and let me invest in a couple of players to bolster the squad. Again I had a great start, was in 2nd for a while then went 10 games without winning.. Just got my first win again, a 7-3 over Burscough, laying in 14th, 5 points off the Playoffs. My previous tactics weren't working at all so I've switched to a back 3 with 2 wingbacks, a DM, 2 in central midfield and 2 up front which works well with the 3 midfielders and wingbacks all going forward, I always seem to have men in the right positions.

The conference North seems to be a very tight affair with maximum 10 points seperating the playoffs right down to about 17th or 18th place!

I'd be interested to know how anyone else is getting on! If I can't get in the playoffs in my third season I'll be accepting one of the offers I'm getting from League Two clubs as I feel there's only so far I can take Workington

Excellent. Now read the forum header, especially the parts about no tactics naming and tipping.

Apart from that, you seem to be doing a lot better than the LLM Challenge participants, hope that's some consolation.

Tipping

Also browse through the 3 season rule on updates.

Sorry lads, newbie obviously! I knew you couldn't name players but didn't know anything about tactics! I tried to edit but don't have the privileges!

Yeah, editors are banned in LLM, so it would be quite ironic if we were able to edit posts in the LLM-forum
