It's possible BG, it surely is.

I've just had 2 14-hr sessions over the weekend and I found my beloved BPA up against league opposition for the first time, in the FA Cup.

1st round against Peterboro came back from 0-2 down to force a replay, won in extra time.
2nd round - our game of the century, away to local baddies Bradford City. Came back from 0-2 down to force a replay, won it.
3rd Round went out on penalties to Hull after a replay.

Finances are well flush now, but more to the point the boys really grew up and after three years we're starting to dream. I gave them all extensions to their contracts after such a feat.

Gates have trebled now we're on a roll in the Conf National; everything is feeling GOOD! Yup, you can find yourself deeply attached to your Parkies

True, Andy. The thing is, it's a long time since I managed in the PL. Part of me wants to get there ASAP (legally I might add), but the challenge of taking BPA as far as I can is winning, at the moment. I too had a good FA Cup run, where I lost to Burnley in a replay at Turf Moor. It has boosted the coffers somewhat. Still struggling to get players to come, but I'm working on it.

Just finished season 2006/07. Finished 10th in the Conference which is acceptable. Was actually in with a shout of making the playoffs, but due to injuries to a couple of key midfielders and a run of one win in 5 from our last 5 games, we faded badly. Still though, it's been a good season. Have made some dosh - am hopeful that the board will release a bit more cash to make a promotion push for next season.

Have recently turned down managerial approaches from Hartlepool and Barnsley. I must admit - they are getting tempting, due to a reluctance from BPA's board to upgrade the training facilities, despite having 200K in the bank.

Hartlepool would have been a bit dodgy for a Big Geordie like yourself though, eh?

KUTGW!! , you seem to be having a good time

Nah - I like Hartlepool as a club. Other offers are tempting ... it's getting harder to turn down bigger jobs. I think this coming season may be key to my future.

Just finished season 2007/08 and I've been promoted to League Two via the playoffs. In finished 2nd in the conference, 5 points behind winners, York. Beat Barnet 4-2 on agg in the semi, and then Burton 1-0 in the final with a last minute goal. It's been a good season, with me being up there, or thereabouts for the majority. Goals have been hard to come by from my strikers, but fortunately my midfield has chipped in as well.

So - on to League 2 now, for what is sure to be a tough challenge. At the mo, I have around £50K for a transfer budget, and around £350K in the bank.

Going to be scouring the market, looking for bargains (using my scouts of course). A couple of my players are after bigger contracts, with their deals up at the end of 2009 - so I may have to get rid if they don't accept new deals, or risk losing them for nothing.

I also made the 2nd round of the FA Cup, as well as the 6th round of the Trophy.

I've also turned down a couple of approaches from other clubs, for my services - including Port Vale and Gretna.

So you're enjoying the LLM way, big fella? I think I can see the "pleasure" in your posting

TG! KUTGW!! (though I'd have been tempted by Port Vale... )

Congrats on getting promoted! Currently we are mid-table Conference National in 06/07. The team is starting to come together. I have not seen any approaches yet , but that is probably because I am an obscure American.....

Aye - I'm enjoying LLM. And may I say I'm not using any dodgy tactics, etc.

Just got my transfer budget for the coming season - £45K with any money recieved coming in from outgoing transfers added to that.

Looks like there's a wee group of us BPA managers neck-and-neck in our campaigns. I'm just at the end of the 2006/07 season with 2 games to go and secured promotion to League 2 - my FIRST EVER experience as a llama with a league team! The fans told me I was a miracle worker

Keep enjoying yours
