Board and Fans getting on my back no matter what I do
I am currently managing Tamworth in the Blue Square North. I believe I have donw very well in my first season as manager, signing two incredible players on loan (a right back and a centre forward) who subsequently got player of the year and fans yound player of the year accolades. I went on the finish 3rd in the division, losing 2-0 in the play off final to a rampant Barrow.(Not bad considering the board only wanted a mid-table finish) Also, during the season I went on three impressive unbeaten runs, one 6 game run, one 11 game run and another 8 unbeaten at the end of the season.
At the start of my first season as manager the board gave me 5k to spend, of which I didn't spend a penny, as I like being a bit shrewd in the transfer market. I ended up with 9k to spend towards the end of the season after off loading some of my deadwood. Leicester, my parent club offer me a couple of players on loan towards the end of the season. Naturally, I accepted as I didn't have to pay a penny towards their wages due to the parent/feeder club agreement.
Anyway, to cut a long story short. The board are constantly on at me about me being useless in the transfer market and not caring about the clubs financial state. And to make matters worse, they've really sounded off about me losing in the play-off final (of which they didn't expect me to get anywhere near when they appointed me). The fans will not leave me alone, I signeda 17 year old Nigerian kid on the free on a £45 a week contract, played him once and the fans want rid!
I thought I'd see what the board offered me towards the start of the new season in terms of transfers and wage budget. All I got was "The Tamworth board want promotion this season, with that in mind we are more than happy to offer you £0 transfer budget" (or words to that effect). Not only have they given me SWEET FA to spend in the pre-season, but to add insult to injury have taken the 5k plus other monies I accumulated through sales of deadwood and shrewd business in the market away from me!!
I'm starting to get more than annoyed with this, the board and the fans always seem to have something to whinge about no matter what I do! has anyone else had similar problems??
Cheers in advance

Its a bug that I hope gets fixed. I remeber reading of one guy who got promoted and didnt have his contract renewed cos he hadnt met the targets in the previous league division!!
Personally this part of the game is untrue, you get more stick from the media than you do from the fans and board at times. Examples to note of late, Megson at Bolton, hated by the fans/loved by the board. Jol when at spurs, liked by the fans/hated by the board. Benitez at Liverpool, ok with fans and board, press always on his back. I'm sure there's millions of others...
The game however seems to only hate the manager irrespective of what they achieve. still, hope they fix it.

If you aren't using the patch, or downloaded the patch in the first day or two after it is out, download it again. It should help in some cases - though reports are it hasn't fixed it for all cases, as T-Bag is alluding to.

I was Bury in L2 and so was only shooting for 20th. Finished 19th and didn't get in any serious trouble, just a lot of grumbling. Bought nearly a whole new team for year 2. Way over budget, but in 1st place. The board don't want to talk about holy cow, we're in first or why are wages 1M instead of 700K. They only want to talk about they like me because of my one player who was a good signing and don't because of some 19 yr old in the reserves who was a bad signing (on a free and also not affecting anyone's lives whatsoever).
First year right of the bat, I lost to Man U 6-0 in a friendly. They held that against me for the whole fall/winter. Hopefully that aspect will be fixed as well and not just fixing the unjustified sack.

Do what I do mate, absolutely ignore the board and the fans. You'll feel better and last longer. If you read their reactions it drives you nuts. Just think how the fans and board would react in reality if you achieved something significant.
