Does anyone know if this has been implimented i FM08? For example, Michael Bridges is at Sydney for a few games and I don't think he goes towards the salary cap. Any ideas?
Rather than a designated Marquee player like the A-League use, I think FM08 merely takes the highest earner and does not include his wages towards the salary cap.
Just to clarify on Bridges, he is on loan from Hull. FFA regulations state that a loan is subject to the same rules that apply to the transfer of a player. Therefore I think the proportion of Bridge's wages that Sydney have agreed to pay must be included within the salary cap? Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe loan players are exempt - just the designated marquee (or the highest earner in FM).
Cheers for that. I know that on 07 the marquee doesn't count but loan players do (if you pay their wages... which I don't tend to do with Aussie players from lower league clubs). I think Bridges is included in the salary cap, I forgot Juninho wasn't included.
the salary cap ruins the a-league on his game, each new contract you offer players, they want more so that you have no choice but to let them go, meaning the club makes no progress

Bridges isn't counted in the cap because he was brought in as a replacement for the injured Enfield.
You are all a bit confused
First of all guest players. Are these even still used IRL? Only one I can remember was romario. This is where the player signs for 4 weeks and I dont remember if it counts to salary cap. This isnt in the game
As for Bridges and Aloisi, they are injury replacements and this is sort of a loophole where they dont count to the salary cap and so Adelaide and Sydney pretty much get 2 marquee players. However this isn't in the game neither.
