Default How 'Bugged' Was FM06?

FM06 was the last FM game I owned and I played it a fair bit over the last couple of years but never patched it at all as I wasn't aware these existed back then or, in fact, that there was anything significantly wrong with the game.

With all the talk of bugs in the patched and unpatched version of 08, I was wondering how bad the problem was with FM06 was in comparison to the problems that have been reported this year.

i dont rmember too many bugs with that version, however, i, like you too, diidnt knw the patch existed until recently and never used to patched my games, and looking back at fm07, without the patch, there were same major problems, like rooney being continuouesly ssupended for england, and dodgy player history etc, but your right, i dont rmemeber sny fm06 prolems, but its time to move on now mate, fm with 8.0.1 patch is the way forward, its soo much better now!

Bugs I notice in patched FM06 (which I'm still playing):
- crashes to Windows randomly when applying quick tactical changes in match and clicking on the live table/latest scores whilst "applying tactics"
- defensive free kick instructions randomly go awry whenever you make a tactical change in a match
- scouts rate players as "not worth signing" even though they're obviously brilliant (linked to reputation and taking small teams up the leagues)
- The next number of games I owe clubs money for is negative (e.g. owe 5k per appearance for the next -62 matches for one signing)
- array out of bounds error when renewing contracts (doesn't crash the game though, and can be circumvented)
- once could not advance the game any more and had to revert to a previous save

There's probably loads more, but the first two really irritate me.

Visiting these forums are half the problem. Alot people may notice one or two bugs but then they come on here and see more people complaining. They then moan that the game has loads of bugs even though they only noticed a couple.

I never had any problems with FM06, FM07 I was only affected by millions of red cards each game. And despite loads of people moaning about FM08, I haven't had much go wrong. I guess I'm lucky.

I fully agree with that. I spent a year playing CM3 unpatched; was amazed when I saw the list of bugs that were in it sometime later when I finally came on here.

There were far more unique reported bugs in 06.

With 08 it's mainly the same bunch of bugs that are brought up over and over again.

I snapped by FM06 disc in half it made me that angry.

Having that that, with the final patch it was probably my favourite version of the game. Pretty much the same as it is now but with less crap to click though all the time.

Wow, thats a fair few! I did have the contract one and a similar thing with some random youth player that would close the game down whenever I tried to look at his stats.

But I just got on with it to be honest. Enoying, yes, but not enough to warrant snapping my disc
