Point is Torres doesnt get 10+ one v one per game, let alone miss all of them.

You should have David Villa or start to cry or hit your computer. Or be patient

That's not really acceptable though is it?

It's ok saying it's a known issue, and yes we really didn't need another thread started about the one-on-ones. But telling people they should just be patient isn't really good enough for me.

This issue causes the whole tactical side of the game to be a bit pointless for me.
Let me explain why. After the sheer number of people complaining last year about the tactics being too confusing and too difficult to implement successfully I expected SI to incorporate something to make the slider system clearer in FM08. My preference would have been for some sort of feedback system but this was not to be. Instead they improved the manual a bit and at first it looked like they might have improved the match engine so that your tactical choices and changes were well represented by the match engine, in turn making the whole tactical system easier to understand.

However all this was negated in the original game by the fact that players didn't close down. So the whole tactical side was a bit pointless and then by the time the full patch came out the match engine seemed to have changed drastically so that the transparancy I noticed in the original match engine was no longer present.

In my opinion, if SI were unwilling to implement a feedback system to help players understand why things were or were not working for them then it was imperative that peoples tactics were well represented by the match engine. This was needed to make sure people could tell for themselves why things were happening and in turn avoid the tactical confusion that affected many FM07 players.

Unfortunately the one-on-one issue completely spoils this. People are creating tactics that, if you believe what you're seeing on the match engine highlights, are working perfectly well. The tactics are dominating teams and creating many excellent looking chances. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, these chances are never converted. So what are players supposed to take from this? The tactic is working, their team is dominating and excellent chances are being created. How then are players supposed to know from that why it's not working and what they need to think about changing?

Tactics are one of the most important parts of this game. Each patch has had a different issue that has made this part of the game pointless and frustrating for many, which for me is very disappointing.

If this is implimented. I would be losing 12-1 to 15-0 a game. And probably convert the one chance that I get all game. At least the way it is now, I can keep in the games for longer losing 2-1 and the like.

I just think that SI needs to improve the defence to be about as quick as the offence because the offense always seems to get in a better position, thus having more agility than the offence. There needs to be less 1 on 1's not more converted.

The issue is that SI noticed that there was an issue with match engine creating too many good chances, which resulted in unrealistic scores.

Rather than finding this issue and fixing it appropriately, they decided to tone down the strikers abilities to score (even the easiest of opportunities!) and tweaked to keepers to perform slightly better.

This is why it's resulted in the game still creating to many chances, but keepers pulling off super saves time after time or strikers missing shot after shot !

SI should address the problem properly now and fix it at the source, rather than trying work-arounds which is what has pi55ed so many people off!
