I've been doing a lot of no comment recently to controversy questions, due to previously being fined due to comments. I dont want to get my manger in any more trouble so I just say that I didn't see the incident etc. I'll give my view on a players debut though.

But all my players usually have very good or superb morale anyway and odds are i'm going to win the game regardless. If I do comment theres a chance it might give one of my key players poor morale and make them play bad, then they will go off on some stupid off form streak, that or decide they hate me.

I occasionally used to comment if I thought it was a match I had no chance of winning just to try and get something extra. But as my team is decent after 10 seasons of work I don't really go into many games thinking that.

What disappoints me is you very rarely get the actual manager mind game comments anymore. While they are still poor, they are the best media because they have the most options to reply with. But I only see this maybe once a season now. But on FM08 even when it does come up it's usually some manager saying he likes you, so you reply in kind only for half your squad to be unhappy because you shouldn't be praising other managers... honestly wtf ? We talk about a realistic game but stuff like there is right out of fantasy land.

I either use No-Comment, or just ignore the news item.

I just ignore them. When I get two news items before every match about a returning player and how do I think we'll fare, and I get the same five options every time for 15 seasons, it's tedious.

I'd rather not have it at all than have it like this.

After numerous seasons of saying the wrong thing, I went through an entire season clicking the "no comment" option.
Had my best ever season, and NO grumpy players!!

I generally ignore all of these media items needing response as the feature isn't implemented with sufficient subtelty or depth yet.

This can't be comfortable reading for SI. It really confirms that the media section is very poorly integrated into the game.

However, in the interest of improving future versions, perhaps we should throw them a bone...

How could this aspect of the game be improved upon.

Suggestions?

Human reactions and personalties are THE most difficult thing to simulate on a computer. If you're really determined to incorporate it then it requires painstaking design and implementation.

Not just lumping it in there so you can extend the "New-Features" list.

From the demo I didn't get the feeling much was changed compared to 2007, so this is probably still a current complaint : that the result of the media replies appear to be completely random.

In 2007 you could get a player to be happy with the faith shown in him, only to load back to the same media question and give the same reply with the player suddenly feeling too much is expected from him.

When I found this out I basically ignored the entire thing.

I make no comment to all comments regarding match incidents as I have no actual view on what happened except for offside goals but even then I know that what ever I say will have no positive effect.
