Because I like FM to be as realistic as possible I am sometimes displeased with the names of the regens appearing. As we all know certain names define certain generations. Although that depends on which country you live, because more traditional countries (like the UK or Italy) tend to give their children more traditional names. In Belgium the most popular names are 1/Noa(h) 2/ Thomas 3/ Lucas 4/ Milan. I have never seen the name Noah as a regen name for a Belgian player. The most frequent regent names are: Jan, Dirk, Marc, Luc,... but those are names given to children about 40-60 years ago. It's ok for a coach name or something, but it's totally unrealistic seeing these names appear for a 14 year old. And the surnames remain the same over the years of course, but the same names are appearing too often. Although I have to say that in FM2007 things have improved since FM2006. Still I would like to have more different names to appear as regens.

I guess most of us know the EDT-files we can use for different applications. One of these apps is to add the names of future regens yourself.
You can write numerous command lines or you can also use the EDT-generator, fill in the names, nationalities, ... and the generator creates the EDT-file for you. You can place the EDT-file in your db/700/edt folder before starting a new game and the names will appear as future regens names.

Anyway, I would like to create a huge future regens EDT-file, for everyone to download. But I need names first

Write your name, surname, nationality, favorite club and birthday.

Something like this:

Stefaan Leleu, Belgium, Club Brugge, 23 JAN

* You don't need to mention the year of birth, only DD/MM. If you write e.g. 1979 as a year of birth, you will appear as a coach, not as a player. So I will randomly allocate a year of birth from 1991 to 2005 when I create the file.

* Instead of simply writing down your own name, please write down names of other people you know as well. (At least 10)

(PS: I know this has been done before, but these files were simply to small, and since there are a huge amount of regens, I need a huge amount of names. I will also filter the names you give me. It's useless to add names like Paul Smith or David Hughes for example, because the game creates 3 of these names per year already)

By the way, if you don't know the favourite club or the birthday of the names you write down, then you can assign a club/birthday yourself or you can leave it blank and I will assign a random birthday myself. The name/nationality is mandatory though.

Also, if you have written a favourite club with the name, that is not necessarily the club that your regen will appear in. Your regen usually appears in the country of your nationality.

Ok, if everyone is only going to give one name, then I don't see the use of this. Come on, at least 10 names (if you have that many friends ) Don't worry about privacy, you don't have to give their email or phone nr. And if you're still worried about it, then mix up the names and surnames or something.
