Is there anyway to make it so that a player will retire at the end of that season?

Go on the editor and make him about 40, and set his ambition to low.

If you want them to retire without needing an editor, head over to General Questions

. Either edit "live" with FMM or use the database editor. Alternatively, convince him (it might take a while) to take up a coaching certificate, and then contract him as a coach (rather than a player).
