Like many in this forum, I am trying to create a European Super League using the English League structure. I plan to have playable leagues down to Conference North/South.

My question is: How few teams can I have in the non-playable English leagues without having FA Cup/Trophy/Setanta Shield problems?

I realise these competitions rely on the "last positions" in the editor being filled in correctly.


Also, will there be a problem if other top European leagues (eg. La Liga, Serie A) have less teams than they should?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I think you'll need quite a lot of English teams because they are so many playable leagues. Obviously you will need all the teams in the playable leagues plus I think all the teams in the division below the lowest playable league, sometimes you need more though, I edited the finnish league to create my own, Finland only has two playable leagues but I needed to keep 128 teams on the database because the first round of the finnish FA Cup had 128 teams in it.

My advice is start a new game with a small databse and all the english leagues, then see when the first round draw is made for the cup competitions how many clubs are involved.

P.S If your not going to run a specific league then you can get rid of all but 8 teams and it wont effect the European Competitions. You need 8 teams because if a country is in the top 3 for UEFA Co-efficients (currently England, Spain and Italy) then 4 teams go into the Champions league, 3 go into the UEFA Cup, and One goes into the EURO Vase 4+3+1=8

Just one thing:

If I delete teams from the non-playable English leagues, how do you think I should assign the last positions?
