hi,i need some help on how to play an amc so that i get the best out of him.what instructions should be given???

Depends what you use him for. If you use him to hold the ball up and play it to the wings, tell him to pass it wide

Or you may want him to do long shots, in that case tell him to do just that. Or maybe you want him to hold the ball up so your midfield can attack

All you really need to do is think why you have an AMC and what you want him to do, then give him the relevant instructions

Personally I would have run with ball and forward runs on mixed, through balls on often (with according passing/decisions skill of 15+ preferably in a top league).

mentality I would give him 1-2 notches behind the strikers, depending on how the rest of the central midfield behind him looks.

depending on his skill long shots often.

if he doesnt have a good decisions skill you might have to experience with the forward runs and run with ball according to his stats... a reason why I stick to players with high decisions and they will get it right on mixed

My main problem with AMCs in this game is for them to get the ball enough. They just...don't, at least for my teams.

Try ticking on the option to Use Playmaker in the team instructions, this way more of your game will be focused through the AMC. Also make sure to put the AMC into the Playmakers list.

I recently have been able to make my AMC play a lot better. Granted it's Ronaldinho, but for the last 4 seasons he's been very average for me. I decided to give him:

Free Role
Hold Up Ball
Run with ball: Often
Through passes: Often
Long shots: Mixed
Forward Runs: Mixed
Crossing: Mixed

Now he gets 8 and 9s frequently as before he got 6 and 7s.

Well his mentality should depend on where you have the mentality of your strikers in my opinion. You should probably have the AMC's mentality no more than one or two notches below those of your strikers. For example in my game I play with a target man and an AMC. The AMC has a mentality of 15, the target man has a mentality of 11 (it's low so that plays deeper in midfield), and my other striker has a mentality of 16. So you see how the AMC is only notch below my most attacking player.

Now for creative freedom. I usually give all my players (except the DCs) the creative freedom that is indicated in their attributes. So lets say Ronaldinho has 19 for creativity so I give him 19 creative freedom. Basically I let him use as much of his creativity as he can.

His passing I usually put on team. I usually have all my midfielders, strikers and fullbacks on team passing.

For closing down I put him on the last notch of mixed, which is setting 14 if I'm not mistaken. I don't really want him to close down too often because he's the playmaker and should get more into good attacking positions instead of chasing around after the ball all the time.
