I know alot of people on here have created several tactics to use throughout using different individual mentalities.
Im just wondering if this is really necessary as if you look at Cleon who has probably had the best success I've seen on here with Sheff Utd. He didn't change individual mentalities from game to game did he? or at least I don't think he did, he just tended to alter the team mentality when needed.

Let me add that Individual Mentality override Team Mentality. So in Cleons case, it makes perfect sense why he had so success:
He tweaks before & during game, but he actually leaves the Mentality out, since Individual Mentalities overrides Team Mentality. So he can change the team mentality how much he wants, it has no effect on the game whatsoever, unless in position 1 or 22 (All Defend or All Out Attack).
Usually its enough to tweak width, focus passing, tempo and some minor passing adjustment during match to change the game into your favor, just like I do. I never touch the Mentalities, only the (some) global settings in team instructions.

Ideally you want to make the minimalist of changes game by game. Find a tempo, mentality etc what suits your side, then alter it ever so slightly when needed. Thats all I tend to do, this way you use the same base really and change when forced to.

What Cleon did was give each of his players their own mentality, however, when playing in a match he only changes the team mentality slider, he does not touch the individual mentalities.
He will also adjust tempo, passing and width durring the match to find a good mix. Also if the scout report say that the opposition has fast strikers then the defensive line should be set to deep.
Hopefully I have cleared it up a bit for you guys. Cleon, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Cleon can "adjust" his team-mentality as much he wants, it has no effect unless he set it in position 1 or 22: Individual Mentalities, as he has put his players on, overrides Team Mentality. And yes, I know that Cleon plays with lower mentality on his players at back, than in front.

Right so your view is that Individual Mentality completely overrides Team Mentality? So basically then your saying Cleon completely wastes his time in adjusting his Team Mentality, which he does do?

I know thats what it supposed to do, however if I just change the team mentality slider when loosing 2-0 I can normally claw the game back at get something out of it. As I have proved numerous times in my threads. I also think it does alter things, but thats just another debate.....
paulowen for me its not a waste of time no, others might disagree but it works for me and has done since I was beta testing it.

that's what i do, except i only give my gk and my defs individual mentality's, and my dmc gets his own away from home. I then tweak team mentality depending on whether i'm home or away and as and when required in the game

I agree with Cleon and Edinton. I don't believe that team mentality overrides the individual mentalities. I have experienced the same things as Cleon. If I go more attacking on the team slider then I usually see more attacking play taking place.
