Kind of newbie still with FM tactics, but decided to give a try with Chelsea... (BTW, I'm Liverpool fan... :p)

Would this work ?



My thought is that it'd become as 4-1-1-3-1 when attacking, right ? Should I add arrows for fullbacks (DL/DR) to make it 2-3-1-3-1 ? Basicly, it's 4-1-4-1 when defending and sort of 4-2-4 when attacking..I hope...:p

So, when Chelsea has the ball, Lampard moves behind Drogba (who is the target man) and wingers go forward to support the attack ?

Seems to work at least somewhat.

I'd just appreciate comments about if it'd be beneficial to add forward arrows to full-backs in this case? And if Ballack in the pic will play more in center (side arrow is supposed to make player play "wider" ?).

forward arrows indicate attacking or forward player runs when your team has possesion

backwards arrows represent defensive repositioning when the opponent has the ball

IMO sarrows and darrows makes the player cover more space. farrows and barrows gives them an attacking/defensive position, but don't count on them being as much in position as a player who originally plays in that position.

In CM 03/04 I had good Chelsea success with 4-5-1 with all DMC/MC/AMC in single line, having 3 AMCs with "Farrows" and 2 DMC/MCs. Oh well..one does not have to be truly tactically proficient wih Chelsea material...

I swore after CM03/)4 that I'd not buy another CM/FM..and here we go... I still feel there isstuff that annoyed me in CM 03/04 still present...but at least clueless DCs are cured...

But back to topic:

It'd just make sense to me for them playing 4-5-1..and I'd like some input. Attacking 4-4-2 or Attacking 4-5-1 ? Cannot see them playing defensively...:p Also, they have bunch of DMC/MC/AMC but fewer true FC/ST. Thus the 4-5-1.

Anyhow, this seems to work decently...but I'm not sure if it's due to players or tactic...
