oh right! no sarcasm intended! normally put a wink with a bit of sarcasm, basically the two matches were exactly the same and 2-1 and 5-0 is a massive difference, which makes me think that whatever you do some matches the AI will make themselves better!

Ha! I think what it was is you screwed the quote up and your comment ended with MY 'so really, sliders and tactics' as if you were saying you 'won two games back to back with your tactic' .. and threw the slider and tactics remark back! Why don't they have a god-damn edit button on here?

The real bug-bear with me is the 'Big team at the bottom of the league' rubbish.

Example : 10 games in to a season .. Arsenal are down the bottom of the league - not scoring goals, conceding too many .. Your going to the Emirates next match ........ and they wipe the floor with you and stuff you 5-0 .. bloody stupid.

It is crazy tho .. so many things 'appear' pre-determined (NOTE before I get jumped on by anyone: appear!!) and no matter what you do at times it doesn't change anything - that, or the range of randomness is so great its why there is so much inconsistancey at times between results : Go to Old Trafford and nick a 1-0 win and look so solid defensively then play the worst team in the league at home at get beat 3-0 after playing like a fat pub team ..

yeah i don't remember writing that about sliders and that bit :S! hmmm yeah the game can be realistic but its like bowling a cricket ball, if you try too hard then it isn't as good as trying not as hard! they need a re-think!

I do think sometimes things are a little...strange.

People speak of reranking, but let's say I'm Real Madrid, I've won both the CL and the league back to back, and I have a 7 or 8 game winning streak...

And all of sudden, we don't start playing worse. we were creating as much as before - but we stop scoring. Missing sitters. And concede the dumbest goals. I still won the league in the end, but, to me...it felt like the AI was like "Ok, that's quite enough."

I've won a -lot-. But I've not managed to play a well defined, flowing, solid style of football over an entire season. Inconsistency could be a factor, but I went and cheated; I grabbed FM scout and checked how consistant my players are and their numbers in important matches.

And they were all really high.

That's not re-ranking. Re-ranking doesn't have the effects people say it does. It's another one of those "how can I blame anything but myself" get out clauses like superkeepers, cheating AI and so forth.

Usually, it's a combination of factors including, but not limited to, the change in season (weather), a drop in morale, complacency, tactical naivity, loss of form and much, much more. Small tactical changes can help, as can good media handling.

Real Madrid won't be re-ranked, unless they do badly. Even then, they'd still be viewed as a good team.

I would gladly blame myself Millie, I'm not particularly prideful, at least not when it comes to FM 2k7.

Drop in morale wasn't the issue, since there was none. Changes in the weather, perhaps. Bad tactics, maybe, but how come I've had a league winning streak of 16 games if my tactics were crap? And it's not like I don't tweak them according to the games, injuries or rotation.

it always happens for me. just recently managed chelsea ferreira heads it as lightly as possible back so that their player can run on to it and hit it past cech also cech gets the ball played back about 40yards out of goal and he misses the ball for their player to run on to it and hit it into an open net!!!!

what can i do?

my keeper does that aswell! comes out 30 yards, headers it 2 yards which happens to be to the oppositions best player and he scores! i can understand a scuffed goal kick(need to add those) but this is unrealistic!
