It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Yes well, this appraoch is all about assuming its personal rather than club level.

Have you noticed how the managers preferred formation and playing style appear in the profile just at the point when results start to dwindle?

Im expecting Im wrong, but its worth a shot

It's a good idea that, but I'm not sure it's re-ranking, I think it's just that the clubs have built up enough scouting knowledge of you to know your style of play and are therefore able to counter it.

The AI is doing exactly the same thing as those players who use the scout report to choose their tactics, I reckon. So, I think your test may work, to an extent, because it will mean the opposition won't know what to expect. But it isn't re-ranking, I don't think.

Perhaps a better way to counter it is to be willing to change things such as mentalilty, tempo, passing, width and counter attack (though clearly not all at once!), the main issues that get brought up on the scout report sheets.

Besides, won't the constant chopping and changing of staff affect morale and the consistency of the team? It could end up being detrimental in the long haul.

Hi again Millie

Well, this approach is more about ruling a possibility out than being liely cause of these issues.

If it is indeed simply tactical adjustments by the AI that are improving its performace, then really I am very impressed, as it would be the first AI Ive seen to seemingly not any obvious weak spots.

Im thinking along the lines of resigning at rejoining once a season so shouldnt be too much turbulence, but lets see if it has any effect first. This is my plan tonight. I will take screenies of all these performances (match stats)

I will save the game where it is and play the same match twice (by loading a save game at the end of each match). Two matches under each condition should give some pointer to the result.

1. Current set up
2. Resigning and rejoining
3. Retiring and Adding a new manager

It wont be a total waste of time as I plan on a glass of wine every 90mins so by the end I should be done in

this re-ranking thing is a bit of a dillema for me,too.

I think that it happens because we try to succede with any formation in a short ammount of time. Let me explain, from what i've noticed:having succes changes the way the AI plays against you,but changing your tactics due to re-ranking can be tough if you don't have players able to adjust in a short period of time or that are not suitable for the tactic.

The way i play is i create a style of play and stick to it even if it takes me a bit longer to win trophies.

But that is just me and my approach...

No, I think it will be a decent way of looking at how the manager affects AI approach, and I'm all for it. I'm just being a bit of a pedant and arguing it's not re-ranking.

I'm looking forward to seeing your results.
