Realistic is over-rated. I really mean no disrespect to the dead, and i think mentioning this is in real bad taste but remember that Cameroonian guy who passed away during the confederations cup a few years back? RIP. i really hate to make the comparison but what if that happens in one of your games, its realistic, its happened before.... how comebacks from 4-0 or 3-0 it happened with liverpool and milan so it can happen, right.. well not for maybe another 10 years... same goes for injuries (too many. ok bayern had to play their 4th maybe keeper in the latter stages of th CL couple of years back too, so its ok to have 3-4 injuries in the same position all the time...), superkeepers(rediculous), contracts(players are becoming better paid IRL, but in the game its stupid what they ask for), player sales(same as contracts)... the point is: its like taking something that actually does happen (no argument there) but maybe once every what 5-10 years and make it a commonplace 8-9 times a season occurance... no the game is not realistic, and more importantly ITS NOT AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE ANYMORE. maybe that's why people are ranting so much (myself included , )we need to fill the time where we used to be playing FM....

p.s. for all those brilliant posters that are going to tell me they still enjoy their games... good for you , i'm really happy for you, you have a higher tolerance for pain than I, and probably lower blood pressure

While i have never gotten beaten so badly, and i play tactics with 2 defenders etc, as i usually make a change when things are going wrong, the op is probably right, even if its his tactics, that alone shouldnot yield such a result (unless you played with no defenders).

indeed, even if mourinho gets his tactics wrong, the will of his team to not be embarassed by a smaller side would alone be the determining factor. the number of combacks chelsea pulled off. arguably they were playing wrong tactics, yet the determination of the squad kept things together.

really if you have worldclass, professional players, an 8-0 loss would never happen, and has never happened irl. (if i'm wrong, give examples)


i agree that tactics are tantamount in this game, which requires balancing for fm2008.

*Very* unrealistic things happen in game time to time..and it can get very frustrating. Those things can happen in "real football", but not as frequent as in FM.

Once in CM03/04 I lost 3 guys for injuries and had 2 red cards bonus to that after I had made all my substitutions after 70th minute...made me feel real spiritual too. Not seeing that in FM07 yet.

I really hated "supergoalie" in CM03/04..and I notice it even in FM07 now and then..it's really toned down now, though. You just couldn't beat a goalie who has save % of 90% or more. Used to see lot of double and even triple saves from same attack regularly in CM03/04. That's Ice Hockey, not Football. Even in Ice Hockey, 10+ shots *on goal* tend to get you a goal. Having 10+ shots *on goal* within penalty box and still not scoring is still too common phenomena in FM 07.

That and dumb DCs were main reasons I decided to skip SiGames CM/FM series for a while and play other games. Most of my gripes are adressed with FM07 (never had 06 or CM 5 etc.)...but some old stuff still surface now and then.

FM07 is best of the series, but it's not yet *the* game (well, none of the competitors haven't gotten even close). Funnily, most enjoyable game in series for me was CM00-01.

Go opposit of your opponent and suddely you will be the lucky one in 2 out of 3 games. After I learned to counter AI I win approx. 60% of all games. I still loose some uexpected ones but thats just the game right now.

DO YOU GUYS LOSE YOUR 1 PLAYER TO İNJURY İN EVERYGAME ? OR ANYONE HAVE 4 STRİKERS AND ALL OF THEM ARE İNJURED FOR AT LEAST 1 MONTH ?? my training is a simple one that i downloaded and it is not hard.

I have the same problem with my Liverpool game and it is getting gradually worse. I can dominate games and have 10 12 chances with some being one on ones and I still can't score. Then the opposition will score and I will lose. It's really annoying. It can't be my players as villa is prob one of the best strikers on the game. As for changing tactics all the time who can bothered with that? If i wanted to study I would get my college books out. I get more stressed with football manager than my actual studying

injuries come and go in streaks. i adjust for this by signing a lot of promising young players, they get their first team football when the starters are injured. i started my current season with my 4 best players out.

here's something from real life:

ah yes.. the good ole "it happened once in 1925 so it's perfectly realistic to happen here".

It's just like Zidane heatbutting in the WC Final. After that, it took 2 patches, before then anytime either team went behind, there was a good chance one or more of the team would start kicking, punching, headbutting.

Before that it was the Liverpool and Milan match and ridiculous comebacks, and it's effects are still in the game today!
