Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Barrows or Farrow?

I'm 2 1/2 seasons into a game with Leeds (not a fan, but fancied the challenge of trying to get them back into the PL).

Anyway, I can't pin down a decent tactic, and so I though I'd ask a couple of questions here.

Is there any difference between midfielders/wingers with a natural positions of say, DMC, MC or M L/R with forward arrows, or players in with more forward natural positions but with back arrows??

In theory the all move forward when in possesion, and track back when the opposition has the ball.

What am I missing, or is there little difference between the two?

Thanks

Farrows - Simply mean the direction or area in which a player will move forward when attacking.

Barrows - Is when the player isn't in possesion or is defending it will be where he drops back to so to speak.

If you had a player in say a AML position on the tactic screen and give him a barrow it would simply mean that he would fall back to the ML position when not in possesion/defending. When he is attacking however he would take up a position around the area where you have placed him on the tactic board/pitch.

It really depends how you want you team to play, if you want them to counter attack it is probably more use if you have him in the ML position with a farrrow.

I am no expert, I hope I have helped a little if not then Lol

Ok, but what is the difference between the example above and a ML with a forward arrow to the AML position?

Again, he would fall back (to ML) when your team is not in possesion, and move to the AML position when you are attacking.

Do you see what I mean... is there any difference between the two?

The difference is where he is positioned when you are on attack or defend. If you have a AML with a barrrow he will not nesscarry be able to defende or be infront of there opposition winger he is more likely to be trying to catch up with them. Also if you passing out from defence to attack, if you wish to pass to the AML with the barrows it is most likely you will have to do so with a longer ball. Compared to if you had a ML with farrows, as he would be closer to your defence with his default position. Does that make sense? The biggest difference is the positioning the ML and AML will take up by default (or in attack) Like I said im no expert that is just my assumation of how it works through FM use etc.
